Snow white pearl, hi chroma red, and ceramic silver are described by Kia as premium colors that come as + $495. option. What makes these selections “premium”? Is there anything that is higher quality or better durability about the premium colors? My guess would be that supply/ demand for particular colors to some extent determine dealer pricing .... My impression (perhaps wrong) is that the micro blue and yellow may be more in demand than the snow white pearl color.

They are premium because they are all three stage paint (base, pearl, clear) compared to standard 2 stage paint.

Thank you for replying. The aurora black was a premium color in 2018 but is no longer a premium color.... comments?

In Australia, Aurora Black still costs $695 AUD extra , maybe KIA Motors America, want to try sell more black coloured Stingers, as it may not sell any where as much as the other colours ?..Just a thought..?

In Canada everything but black is premium, but for 2020 only a $200 option.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
My window sticker indicates that the red interior is included with the SWP option, but I'm pretty sure you could get it in black as well (the top section shows mine has a black interior).

The real and honest answer.....it is yet another example of a car company being opportunistic and gouging customers for something that used to be “standard”. It’s the “we can do this if no one complains about it” mentality.
