Have you ever noticed that when you purchase or lease a new car, there’s an inevitable increase in the daily contents of your mailbox? You would think that in the Age of the Internet there should be a decrease in the amount of mail.

New Cars Equal Lots Of Mail

But, for whatever reason, in the first say six months of you taking delivery your new charge there is that increase in the physical poundage of mailed material traveling to you via the U.S. Postal Service.

Now, I would hope that this isn’t the case with today’s new car, but, I am a realist enough to know you have little chance of escaping the deluge of mail. When you boil things down, you can toss most of the postal uptick into the round file.

However, some pieces of mail are of crucial importance to you and your new car. Continue reading Kia Plans 16,000-Stinger Recall As Potential Fire Hazard Found...

I'm curious if this is significant enough that I could use this as a bargaining chip to increase my bargaining power.

Unlikely. If you are buying a 19 they are not a part of this, neither are late production 18s. Also, once the recall is released all the cars on the lot will be fixed before being sold.

You are right, but the reality is that any recall affects sales. It's not a big deal, but I'm sure it swayed some people from buying.

This is one reason I'm waiting on a '19....first year glitches. Problem is, there is not a single '19 GT2 AWD available in Texas yet. Not one.

Autotrader shows 111 2019s within 200 miles of Austin (78752)..

I tried Autotrader. None listed as 2019 GT2 AWD in TX. They list some in Arkansas, Missouri and Kansas, but NONE in TX. I've been waiting since last spring to buy this car; I live in the DFW area and shouldn't have to travel hundreds of miles out-of-state to get this car. I'm sure some will be delivered soon, though. Gotta be patient...

So the link is showing a Stinger AWD for recall, is this also for the RWD?

Would this show up on NHTSA yet? I entered my VIN but there are currently 0 recalls. ...I'm guessing they haven't made it in the system.

They aren't addressing this until Dec 20th.
