The clear Door Sill Applique that came on my car started to pull back a little on the piece located on the lower right passenger door. It's at the leading edge of the Applique, pulled back about a 1/4 inch.

How do I reattach /re-adhere it? It's now whitish and is easily visible against the Aurora Black.

Thanks.

It's going to be a 100 degrees today, I probably just need to blow on it ...
Could you pull back and show exactly where that spot is? I can't make sense out of your pic. Thanks.

I could, but it's supposed to be nearing 100 degrees today so I won't.

Also, that info was already included in my first post.

I had the dealer replace it since I complained, it started peeling again. I just had them remove it completely and give me the money I didn't spend back on it (I didn't pay for it originally lol). Waste of effort to worry about it IMO.

Yeah, I get that. But, "a pic is worth a thousand words", as the saying goes. I wouldn't have asked for more clarity if I could tell what I am looking at in your pic.

I have my first oil change coming up soon, will have the dealer check it then.

FIXED!?!?

Watched YT vids on how to install door sill appliques, sort of did it in reverse:
  • lifted the peeled edge back
  • gently cleaned the back of the plastic film with window cleaner (exposed area was dusty/dirty)
  • wiped dry (noticed applique backing was a tad "sticky", probably from OEM adhesive)
  • sprayed area with soapy water
  • used plastic card to squeegee out soapy water
  • thumb pressed it to smoothness
  • let it bake in outdoor 100 degree temps for 14 hours (lol)
Now, let's see if it holds ...

If it doesnt , just remove it , cleaning the odd shoe scuff is easier

I don't have that on my car. I have the three PPF pieces at or near the rear wheel well flare (one on the door, one on the fender, one on the rocker panel); nothing along the door sill edge.

its after market , not OEM

I get that Kia offers these after market and youre quite rigfht they are OEM parts BUT not factory applied and delivered

As long as everyone understands they are NOT aftermarket parts and are OEM, all is good.

Congratulations, you passed the test!

You now agree that something which is sold by KIA is actually from KIA!:D:rolleyes::D:rolleyes:

And that something which is listed on the main body of the Window Sticker is OEM! ;):p
