Hello. I'm not a Stinger owner, but im very interested in the OE Brembo brakes fitted to some models. I was wondering if anyone here knew what the distance was between the two mounting tabs is on the calipers (both front and back calipers)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Taking my wheels back off tomorrow to apply some tyre stickers i can measure them for you then?

Are you a FORD man by chance ?

Will do so on the weekend.

I'm a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to automotive brands now. 20 years ago, I may have sworn to be a ford man, but now my daily is a 2019 wrx. I have a 1968 falcon which is a long-term project, and a few bikes as well.

Just thought we knew each other bro

Will have the info shortly and some pic's for you :geek:

Hey Bud @Adrenaline

I can confirm the bracket which the brembo attaches too is 140mm from centre to centre.

Peace ✌️

Thanks so much for taking the time to do that The Real Dazzler. You are a legend.

Now whether it bolts onto a Ford upright without adapters or not that is another story

Or..... WRX

I ssume the rear calipers are a different mounting dimension to the front.

The va wrx front rotors are essentially the same offset the pcd as the kia versions.

Dunno bro but it takes wrx pads in the rear?

And evo's in the front for that matter

Very interesting. I've read that there are vibration issues with the stinger brakes. Most info is found said it was oe brake pads and poorly bedded in rotors?

Oh I bedded mine in good .. yet I still had the cross hatch on my rotors at 4000kms

I have never had a vibration with this car but all my friends have ?

What is the width of the caliper? Does anyone happen to have that measurement?
Thanks,

NT

The consensus seems to be that it's a US-centric problem due to softer pads being used for NVH reasons, making them susceptible to deposits on the rotors when they get hot. In my own experience, the couple times I've noticed a slight vibration, a few aggressive brake applications were enough to scrape them clean, and others have reported success after switching to aftermarket pads (and removing any remaining deposits via braking or machining).

I'm not sure which pads Strayan Stingers would've gotten, presumably an upside down version of the Euro ones which should mean no such issues.

Probably... but no, other Stinger owners have complained as well, I go for a hot lap and a few hard braking stops and they always come good... Not mine tho' never had an issue... heading to the racetrack this weekend but so that very well may change.
