Welcome! Just letting you know that this topic has been moved out of the community lounge and into the main Stinger talk forum.

I also updated the title so that people who can help will click through and read your message. To note, this isn't like other forms of social media where people come in and scroll through hundreds of discussions. Here, people scroll through topic titles and click on those with subject matter they have interest in.

No, it’s supposed to open it. Maybe clean off the rubber bumpers where the hatch meets the body when it closes, and the little divots on the body where they meet. If gunk gets on them and solidifies, it can “glue” the hatch to the body. It has happened to me a few times. I but a little silicon lubricant on those bumpers to try to help prevent this. Your issue may have nothing to do with this, but it’s a simple potential solution and maybe worth a try.

Well. It could be several things.

Firstly it doesn't have a trunk. It is a liftgate or hatch.

There are four ways to open the hatch. Fifth if you use an axe.

There is a dedicated button for the hatch on the remote. It is the bottom of 4 buttons. There is also a button under the hatch. There is also a button below the steering wheel. There is also an approach with the smart key if fitted. Are these all working?

Anyway, it shouldn't just pop the hatch. It should automatically open and extend to the open position as set.

You aren't just pushing the vehicle unlock button are you? That does not open the hatch.

is the car new to you? do you have the power lift gate feature? if you do, it should open and raise up. if not, it probably just unlocks ... i never tried a non-powered lift gate trunk.

Good morning yes it has a lift button on the trunk so that’s the only way to open it. Sadly it doesn’t have an inside button like the hood one or gas tank button.

Thanks im gonna try that

if there is no button for the hatch to the left of the steering wheel by the dash light, fuel hatch, and lane keep controls, you don't have the power liftgate.

Look through the hatch back trunk looking for a noise when going down the road. Checked all the tire change gear all snug. Nothing at all in the back and still noise coming from around the spare

what i suspected.

to the OP: does your car have beefy plastic clad hatch struts like this (power lift gate)?

... or skinny ones like this (non-power lift gate)?

Well, there is no, nada, zero way to open the liftgate other than by the switch on the rear of the liftgate.

There are not 4 buttons on the key fob. There is no button under the steering wheel.

Mine is a 2022 Stinger GT1 sold in central TX by one of the megadealers. Sounds like differences may be due to your market? Do you have a GT2? Don

I’ve had a GT and GT2. On the GT, the button did what yours does. On the GT2, it opens the hatch. Your car, like the GT I had, doesn’t have the power lift gate, so the button doesn’t actually open it.
