Kelley Blue Book - Long Term Wrap Up

Interesting that the two repairs have not been reported by anyone else that I've seen -- rear end and power steering. Mine has 19,000 miles and only oil & filter changes, good paint, no squeaks and rattles and no complaints.

Good to hear their experience was favorable, and they're going to miss the car. They really seemed to enjoy the 'zesty' powertrain, and considering it was a test/fleet car it was probably beaten like a rented mule - so the 21.6 average combined MPG seems like a very decent long term return over 20K+ miles.

I recall some earlier posts about a few experiencing cornering noise with the positraction rear ends, so perhaps that was the cause of the replacement. That's the first I've heard of any issues with the electric power steering, which I expect was an electronic module - they did mention they really liked the steering feel (as do I).

resale/trade in value was a surprise considering how many complain or talk about how it would lose value.

Can anyone translate what 'f' word is spoken at 2:11 to 2:12? Sounds like "financeshun"

Also, what 'g' word is spoken at 2:15 - 2:16? Sounds like "retail value "gain"". Maybe I'm going deaf, but those two comments appear nonsensical.

Financial, and game

'Financial Move', 'Resale Value Game'.

The first one is "a bad financial move". The second one is "the Stinger's resale value game is strong". At least that's what those passages sound like to me.

Yep, you're right. "Owning a car for only a year is a bad financial move." Duh! Ya think? He's saying this about all cars, not just the Stinger, so no criticism of our babies there. And don't you love how many reviewers we've heard who are reluctant to part with the Stinger?

Judging by the CA plates, this was one of cars Kia was originally loaning out to car reviewers, lifestyle bloggers, and just about anyone else with a license who they thought would post on YouTube, back in early November, maybe even October 2017. They all had plates starting in "8AYP," which would mean they were built well before any of ours. (October and November 2017 builds, first sold in California in November and December, all had "8B**" plates issued.) So yes, a beaten mule, and an early build to boot! No surprise about the repairs.

No problem on the "early build." Mine is Nov. '17 and no problems.
LSD rear ends can make noise on turns if the LSD additive was not added or if the lube needs to be changed. Just an FYI....

So is it better to buy out ur lease right away or wait to the end of ur leasing term to buy the car?

Buyout right away. You save thousands in lease rent that way.
