Has anyone else experienced this After installing the KNN intakes? After I installed them I can hear the sucking sound of air through the boxes but it is extremely loud and somehow it doesn’t seem like it should sound that way. If anyone can remember what carburetors used to sound like that’s what mine sounds like. Sounds just like a four barrel carburetor without the air cleaner installed.

Yea I have considered reinstalling the stock boxes to rule out vacuum issues but thought I’d ask here first. Side note: no codes, boost spike or boost drop off.

I’ll wait for some assistance and hold on tight for the smart Alec answers as well.

It's normal. The air filters aren't enclosed so you're going to hear them sucking in air/turbo induction as well as the sound of the blow off valves when you suddenly let off the gas. Do a youtube search of others that have installed the intakes and you can compare it to what you're hearing.

Normal.

Part out.
So this issue began two days after I added the intakes I added BOV's and the noise was insane. You could hear the vacuum sound from my car the minute i pressed on the gas. It made me think the bov's were stuck open. But again, I didn't have boost spike or drop.

The noise was excessive. It's extremely loud and it sounds like a 4 barrel carb without the air cleaner installed but the sound is on whenever I press the gas. It only goes away at full throttle.

If that's the case, try adding the stock boxes on to make sure your aftermarket BOV's are working right. Your aftermarket BOV's should only be releasing excess boost and/or excess boost after you left off the throttle.

Basically....make sure the sound you're hearing is actually intake/induction sound, and not your BOV's releasing boost when they shouldn't. Unfortunately it seems lots of folks have odd issues when putting in aftermarket BOV's unless they really know what they're doing and get everything set up just right.

So when I installed the BOV's, it was straight bolt on. Just remove and replace.
