K&N Drop in Filter vs. Cold Air Intake

I doubt any person is going to spend the time and money to do this. A company *might*, there are too many variables that can influence the results. Plus, copious amounts of data exist comparing K&N filters to paper. The former performs better for airflow, worse for filtration. Most aftermarket intakes for the Stinger are technically warm air intakes. Any that ditch the restrictive OEM tubing will outperform the stock configuration as well as the drop in option.

One of our Aussie friends tested the stock air box and found removing the elbows under the bumper removes 5 inches of restriction, which brings the stock air box down to just 4 inches of restriction. That is really good flow. I've done this and put in AEM dryflow stock panels. I would love to see a dyno comparing this setup to some of the CAIs out there. No dyno near me though...

Which elbow are you referring to when you say under the bumper?

I'm sure this setup would produce decent results but what you don't get is the fantastic intake sounds that you get from any open filter intake.
