Same for me, swapped but haven't noticed any difference. Primary reason for buying was just not have to buy new ones every 15,000 miles. If there's any gains it would be bonus, and at the small percent I'd expect it likely wouldn't be noticed anyway (which has proven to be the case).
Supposedly if you use K&N (or AEM) drop ins and add snorkels, the less restrictive snorkel opening and high flow K&N rival a CAI in performance gains (again, not a lot since this isn't be biggest/only bottleneck for the engine). With snorkels the gains would at least be measurable.
K&N drop-ins won't give you gains...unless as stated, you do other stuff as well. I have them (2018) and for the most part the only thing I noticed was within the first few days a little extra pep. I think that was just me, myself and I.
