K and n intake

Hey sutton43,

K&N is a great brand. They have been a trusted manufacturer of automotive parts for a long time.
As far as things go with the Stinger, K&N Intakes is definitely a favorite option for many people.

They have great fitment and look nice with the heatshields.
The heatshields do muffle the sound a bit, if you want more sound and a bit more engine styling, you may want to look at Injen.
Overall, for the price, K&N is a very good option.

Thank you

I just installed the typhoon intake on my 22. I love them. You can here them sucking air in on acceleration and a satisfying blow off too. I haven't had an improvement on mpg but then again I don't really care.

mine has been great

I had a K&N. Returned it and went for AEM instead. I prefer the dry flow filters, and the intake heat shield is a bit nicer.

AEM is also a bit louder, but both are plenty loud when in boost.

I just prefer dry filters over oiled, so I returned it (Amazon purchase), and ordered an AEM.

Both are great. The K&N is a bit easier to install and doesn’t require diverter hose trimming. The AEM has a nicer heat shield and is maybe 15% louder on blow off and induction.

What's the benefits of the dry over the oul
Oiled has the potential for sensor fouling due to the oil used in the filter element. Not really a concern as the Stinger uses a MAP instead of a MAF sensor though.

You’d be fine with either.

Appreciate bro....

Should this be the first mod I should get
Totally up to you and depends on what you're trying to accomplish. If you're looking for more turbo induction and BOV sounds then yes. Keep in mind just the intakes do little for actual performance.

I tend to enjoy cornering / stability before increasing performance so my first mod were sway bars. But once again, it really all depends on your preferences.

Thanks I don't need more power I want the sound...
