Just wanted to update on getting a stinger

When I posted last asking about working on a stinger people were pretty surprised that I was getting a stinger as my first car and were excited to see that I'd be the youngest member. Unfortunately getting the stinger didn't work out, but instead I ended up getting a supra(bmw) 2.0, which I'd say is a fair trade. Now, I already know that sounds crazy and I'm super thankful, but the reason is mostly because my dad works there and is a senior VP, and a perk was getting this car for me for under $5,000. Thanks for the positive welcome when I first posted here, but I ended up with a different car instead. Also, we quoted the insurance and for some reason the insurance for the stinger was outrageously more than the supra, which also lead to this. Maybe some day in the future I'll get one too. Before people come for me again like last time, I already know I'm lucky, no need to attack me for being happy.

Thanks man, I definitely will. Haven’t been able to pick it up because of all the ice and snow Texas has gotten but I’m so excited.

Haha trade me OP, the supra is another category and a beast of itself. It will retain its value more in the end over the stinger anyways.

One other thing is aftermarket parts and support for the a90 will be much bigger and readily available compared to the stinger.

Enjoy the Supra! If it would have come out with a manual transmission and targa top, I can guarantee you I'd be in a Supra and not a M240i! I would have traded AWD for those 2 options any day, especially the targa.

Because you're younger, less liability when there is only 2 ppl in the car. Probably why its cheaper on insurance, same thing for me when I was younger.

Have a cousin who is a senior manager at the new Toyota plant in Alabama....he got a brand new Lexus SC500 for essentially the cost of shipping......Toyota takes GREAT care of their senior managers and I am sure other manufacturers do as well.....Just a little FYI.....been checking out the Supra forums and if the ECU has a mfg. date after 6/1/20, it can't be unlocked....whole lot of '21 Supra owners over there are saying their prayers at night because right now, the only option is piggyback....a few JB4 users on there as well.

Yup, my dad is a senior vp and he oversees the ecu and technology for every Toyota and Lexus car so it comes with some awesome perks. The Supra was like the only car his team didn’t work on because it’s basically a bmw and even the infotainment is straight out of a bmw as well.

Hmm, not sure what you mean by unlocked, but I haven’t actually been able to drive my car yet so I’ll have to find out. Texas weather has been horrible this past week so we haven’t got a chance to take delivery of it.

Im not convinced anyone has starved to death yet, given the length of time it takes for the average human to actually starve. They certainly are colder than expected though

Hmmm don't know for me a car has to look good no matter how much power it has, the supra looks disproportionate, bland front design and awkward overdone back design, side view asymmetric and disorganized, interior is fine cuz is basically BMW, but congrats I hope you enjoy your car.

It's a love or hate design......I tried one out at one of my local dealers.....fired it up and AMAZING. Tried both the 3.0 and 2.0.....like the Stinger, 2.0 is nice but V6 is the way to go.
