Just got a 2022 Stinger

Hi, just wanted to introduce myself. I recently bought a 2022 Kia Stinger GT2 Scorpion. I bought the car used and it came with Injen intakes and a Borla exhaust. Not sure if this is the right place to ask but is there any way to tell if my car has an ECU tune? I can't see any evidence of a piggyback tuner.
Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I’m glad you found us! What did the Stinger replace for you?

Check out the Stinger tuning section:

That would be the best place to ask about the piggyback tuner.

My previous car was a 2018 Kia Soul turbo. Couldn't afford a stinger when I got that one. I also have a 2011 Mustang GT. It's crazy to me that the Stinger is as fast as my Mustang. Thanks for the link, I will ask there.

If the previous owner had an ECU tune installed, It would be much harder for him to sell. You can get away with it for an TCU tune maybe. Techs can easily read if its a tuned ecu. I'm positive the previous owner sold off his tuned ecu to make some extra bucks on the side, wouldn't be too smart if he didn't.

You can always take it out and inspect the ecu. It's quite easy.

Thank you! I will take a look at it. I'm sure if it was flashed it will say something on the outside of the ECU.

Yep.

It's just 3 bolts. Remove bracket and see the stamp. I suggest buying a swivel head for the wrench for one of the bolts. And if you're going to do it, definitely leave keyfob away from the car and wait 10-15 mins as the cars ecu is full asleep and proceed. Unhooking battery for safety but not required imo.

Nice upgrade! The Soul is a nice little CUV, though. Yes, it's crazy how far Kia has come in such a short time. There are still many people who don't even know what a Stinger is. Kia didn't exactly advertise it very well... I think that's one of the reasons it's being discontinued. I bet if they'd put more effort into getting the word out, it would see a second generation. Then again, it seems everything is going electric CUV now... Times have changed...

Hey TheDude,

Welcome to the Stinger Forum and congrats on the new car!

Seems like you got hooked up with some goodies on your scorpion!

Unfortunately, I do not have any advice on the tune other than what was already stated.
