Hi all,

I recently picked up my new MY19 Kia Stinger GT (Pearl White) with the Bi-Modal exhaust (last week). Everything has been quite good so far, apart from one annoyance, my rain sensor plastic cover cap keeps on popping off in this Australian summer heat. I plan on contacting my dealer to replace the cover/cap when I get the time to do so.

Unfortunately, in about less than 3 days of ownership, a 7-8 metre ute rear-ended my front bumper and dented my front number plate with his tow bar. The driver was not insured (+ unemployed), and as he only dented my number plate, I let him off without any repercussions. I ended up having to take my number plate out and straightening it out manually. It looks okay now, and you definitely won't notice anything unless you take a really close look at it.

The cars that I have drove in the past has been a 2004 Mazda RX8 (I still own), and a 2014 Hyundai Veloster Turbo (Young Gun Metal Matte Paint). I decided to picked up a Kia Stinger GT as a birthday present for myself (I recently turned 24).

I look forward to being part of the community :)

Kind regards,

ZeroPenguins

Not yet, I will probably drive it stock for a few months or more before I would consider any mods. It's still early days for me, 1 week in and I still have that new car feeling, I haven't gotten accustom to everything yet.

G' day mate congrats and welcome sorry about the dent, shit happens you know? You can afford a 50k USD at 24 congrats!
Thanks! $50K at 24 isn't that special, I know some people who are doing A LOT better than me. I am just one of those crazy individuals who put down $50K USD for a car rather than continue saving for a house deposit (I thought I would live just a little, and maybe regret it later lol).

The damages weren't that bad. The towbar did pop the grill out (or in) a little, but I did pushed it back to normal. Screenshot below shows my number plate dented.

Welcome aboard, very lucky that minor bingle hasn’t caused any dramas with the front end sensors or safety equipment. We had a member in NSW post that they hit a dog doing about 10kph and it set off the active hood lift system thinking it was impacting a pedestrian and meant an entire bonnet replacement. Just make sure you’ve got good insurance on it because spares/repairs are expensive.

No major dramas at all, front sensors and cameras work as per normal. My car was powered off, maybe that's why the hood didn't pop off? I do have insurance for it, so it should be covered.

Near Willetton?

Welcome I hope the car is all you wanted and more, bummer about the number plate I hope it wasn't custom, I just found out what it would cost to replace one of mine, and I nearly died.

Nope it was not custom thankfully. Yeah, number plates aren't cheap.
