Looks like I just joined the club I never wanted to be a part of. The wife managed to side swip my right fender while it was parked in the driveway.

Anybody with body shop experience want to give a damage assessment? I’m thinking because of where the dent is, I’m going to need a new fender.

Easy fix for both the fender and the bumper , PDR (Paintless Dent Removal ) can probably fix the fender ..............but since it will need to be repainted , best to go the traditional body shop route .............................I was at Home Depot last week and had the pleasure of watcing an ederly man back his car into my right rear bumper . the damage was so subtle but I made a claim and will get the bumper repaired and painted in the Spring .....................good luck , its just a matter of time for many of us .................and it is just a car .

I find your lack of faith disturbing.

Yes it is just a car. And zeal is just an emotion. And a whole lot of the rest of life is just this or that.

Some things are representative of greater things. It is difficult to put into words all that the Stinger represents to me: something to do with a composition: striving for perfection at an affordable price; attaining a balance; visions of how commonplace cars of such quality are becoming, which is both disturbing and exciting.

Ding, scratch, mar and deface the apparent perfection and you've committed a dreadful offense. I put as much attention (at least) into safeguarding my car as I did my children when they were growing up (I think for entirely unrelated reasons).

I'm a self described car fag , I am relentless in protecting my car especially where I park but ........................shit happens .................

Slightly off topic but have you filed the divorce papers yet?

yeah definitely going to a body shop for this one, I'm pretty doubtful they'll be able to pop that dent and make it look right considering it's location, but I hope you're right! I'm also worried about them being able to blend in that pearl paint, that can be pretty tough.

not yet, but we'll see how much it's going to cost and how good of a job the body shop does lol

I have had my spoiler painted by a good local shop and the color and pearl match was perfect ( I'm super picky about stuff like this ) also I bought an OEM spray kit to paint a rear diffuser and it was a perfect match as well . The paint will match and honestly that fender crease is not major , as I said befor PDR guys could fix that ( google PDR to see some of the fixes they can do without body filler ) I think all will be perfect !! good luck , its never fun getting tyour car knicked !

man, I've been quoted $1,300 to fix it. The dent, as I feared, can't be popped because it's on the seam. I found a pearl white fender online, I may be able to save some $$$ just buying it and putting it on. Is there anything to it replacing one? The front bumper comes off easily enough, I can't imagine the fender would be any more difficult.

the two places I've gotten quotes from said they couldn't pop it, I'll keep trying to find someone
..............call a PDR guy , they do mobile call outs . Just google them and watch some vids , you'll see how effective they are on creases and tough panels .

What does PDR stand for? I see the results but have no idea what the process is of getting the wrinkle out.

Paintless Dent Removal .............google it Merlin and watch all the vids you'll love it !!

I got the car back from the body shop, they couldn't do PDR on it. Looks pretty good, there's some funny stuff with the clear though, not sure if my expectations are too high or if I should bring it back to have them correct it. They had to reclear the entire front bumper and there's quite a few really tiny bumps, probably 20 or so over the entire bumper. You can't really see them unless the sun is hitting it just right, but I think it'll drive me nuts while washing because it feels like little pieces of dirt/debris. Also, if you look REALLY closely you can see some stuff trapped in the clear, mostly tiny blue threads of fabric. You have to get up super close to see it though.

The body line isn't 100% back to factory but it is close, not sure if it's even possible to get it 100% back to factory.

What do you guys think? A friend of a friend did the work at his body shop, gave me a killer deal ($500) so I feel bad complaining.

Complain...if he's a body shop he should take pride in his work. Bubbles in the clear, and debris are not acceptable.

Try claying the entire bumper , it may remove some of the rough stuff ,

I think it looks pretty good. The "five feet away" rule should govern our real daily lives. If we get pickier than that, we are either OCD, into show cars as a minimum standard, or BOTH! It's a very pretty car. And judging by the pics, yours is very pretty. "Nothing in life has any business being perfect."

That said, a true friend (you) will point out to another friend where his shortcomings are: and do it with charity. The lint in the clear coat is a prime example of where your body shop friend needs to up his game, or he'll be out of business before too long. I'd show him and talk about it.

Did you catch any fish?
I'm still fishing , nothing pic worthy yet ! but beer consumption and sun tanning are world class !!!
