Greetings guys!

Figured this would be the place to start. Looking to get some info from actual owners instead of google!

I currently own/drive a 2014 Jeep GC SRT Blacked out, lowered, catback, intake. Riped VERY consistent 12.8's @105 in OR and my only pass in PA was 13.0 @107. Just throwing out this info so were all on the same page... I have lurked on some threads where one member claimed to destroy a 2017 SRT, but there is no objective evidence that really happened. (slips)

Been eyeing the Stinger since I heard about it and well... My poor SRT has some issues my OCD hates.....

I wanted to get your guys opinions on the Stinger, more specifically the AWD GT2 model and maybe if anybody could compare vs the Jeep SRT. My family is a "weekend" racer family, we all love the Jeep and summertime trips to the track where we can actually heads up some people. So the car is apart of the family, a lifestyle if you will... Not just a point A to B...

How are you guys doing on a prepped track (Trap/ET@what elevation?) I will lurk the track section some more for slips..
Hows the interior feel, quality wise? Im a bigger guy @6'1 240 :( (I did lease an Optima EX, great ride)
What kinda real world MPG do you guys net? (The SRT nets around 14MPG per tank)
Any quirks pop up yet?
I was reading about the top speed being limited with a certain rim... Whats the deal with this?
Not really interested in modding anything that will void that sexy 6yr/100k warranty....
Anything else that sets this beast apart that will sway me to trade in?

The family and I may go look at one tomorrow....

Thanks all!

Tork Motorsports ran a 12.4 with a bolt on car, front mount intercooler, intake, exhaust, and piggy back tube. Their car is rwd only.
I think you may be surprised at the quality and performance of the Stinger. It is very German in terms of finish and driving characteristics. I hope you find enjoy the test drive

KIA the power to surprise, you’ll be surprised. From my understanding the 18” rim opinion has a safety rating to 130 because of the tires, so just go with the 19” which comes with the GT2. Test Drive it, that’s the main thing.

I haven't tracked it so can't speak to that, but I'll try to answer some of your questions. I have an AWD gt2.
  • I am 6'3'' and I feel comfortable in the car.
  • The quality of the interior really impressed me. There is a thread around here about some people having issues with the side bolster wearing quickly, but I haven't seen that issue. There are a few places I think nicer materials would have elevated it even higher, but I understand the choice.
  • My mpg is typically low 20s when playing with sport mode, but I've been as high as 27 on a 3 hr highway drive with eco and cruise control.
  • There are a few quirjs that have popped up for some of us, but I can honestly say none that have made me regret the purchase even once.
  • Get the 19 inch rims and you don't get the lower top speed.
  • This car is a head turner. I've been approached several times by people who want to know more, or have gotten waves and thumbs up from other drivers. I've even had cars slow down their mad highway dash to get a better look
Id say test drive it and see for yourself. I read everything I could and watched every video I could find back while we were waiting for them to arrive in the us. I fell in love when I sat in one .

Happy to try to be more specific if I can.

Went to check it out today, and man, sick ride. Very refined compared to the lowered 6.4 lolol. I might have talked numbers if the dealer didnt "upgrade" the 19's to 18's.

Sadly, there were 0 gray? GT2's with the 19's within 200 miles of me. Guess it wasn't meant to be today...

Ill keep an eye out in the future for the right one!

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
One more inquiry if you guys dont mind....

Is the door sil applique which denotes the tire pressures the ONLY way to confirm that the dealer didnt ruin the 167mph top speed by buying the 18" wheels? (The tire/rim way by can be cheated)

I have had 2 dealers tell me A: Kia stopped making the 19" wheels and B: The 19"s ONLY come on the RWD model.... I called bullshit on both.

The information on KIA's site has not changed, the 2018 vehicles with the 18" wheel option is the vehicle that comes with the lowered speed limit. COuld that change for 2019, maybe but those vehicles are not being shipped yet and I doubt they would stop making versions with the 19" wheels. Some sales folks will say whatever they need to in order to move their stock.

I'm the guy who destroyed the 2017 SRT. We are at altitude in Denver so I know that wasn't helping his V8. Every time we ran though I was a clear winner, from any speed... Both stock.

We had planned to go to our local drag strip this past Wednesday to make it official but got rained out. Next open night is May 30th. I'll follow up with slips.
