I recently bought a Kia Stinger with a JB4 installed. I got connected to it and decided to wash it yesterday. After I washed it and got home I noticed my JB4 wouldn't connect anymore, after looking I noticed the connect kit part was a bit damp. Today it is still not connecting, will I need to buy a whole new one? or is there anything else I could do?

Unfortunately, this is likely the case. I had the same problem a month ago. I normally had the connect kit sitting on top of the jb4 itself (attached to the fuse box cover), but it had fallen down by the side of the fuse box, and with all the rain we got, it appeared to have gotten damp. I messaged a bit with the company that makes the connect kit and he stated that they are water resistant, but not waterproof. I ended up having to buy a new one which worked fine right away.
I since pulled the unit apart (just slide out the endcap that the cable goes in to) and could definitely see water damage in a couple areas. You would need highly specialized tools to be able to clean it up due to very fine pitch IC's surface mounted on the board, so I didn't bother any further.
I have taken steps to make sure it can't get wet again. The tech did say you could wrap it in a waterproof film or in a bag for better waterproofing if you think it is a continuing possibility of it getting exposed to moisture.
