Hey lads, iv got a Jonny Tig 4" turbo back exhaust, JT intercooler, JT CAI, snorkel and JB4.. Struggling to get the JB4 settings right, continually hitting boost cut and going into limp mode. Sometimes I also lose thottle. Was tuned by pro but advised the 21 I has a different setup/configuration, only done 2500km

Struggling to calibrate the JB4,
Not sure what is meant by that statement????

Still on "stock" plugs.? if you have a log, send it over to Terry@bms.......other than the "basic" questions, they can go a lot further with troubleshooting....

Calibrating e.g playing around with the settings, which the mechanic has been doing but not got it right yet.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Also sounds like ecu is kicking before turbo spins out of control......

map 2 is a standard map.....shouldn't be anything to mess with unless you run 6?????

My mechanic has the same setup but spent hours on the dyno playing around with the settings however he's running map 6 with bigger turbos add is an older 2017 model put the same settings on mine I'm not sure whether that's the issue I don't even know what the standard settings format change it back

Yeah....about that.....Have all the faith in your 'tuner" as I am still learning the craft on a daily basis, but unless you pretty much, have the same car/mods, using same settings probably not best. What i have learned, no two cars are alike.....that being said......

for your "default settings"....ALL duty bias..value of : 50
Default wastegate: 0
PID gain default: 20
Auto shift boost redux: 60
ff/wastegate adaption: 50

If you go to the below site, check out the Kia section, you should be able to find all default jb4 settings. good luck

Yeah I have to be same set up except he has bigger turbos, BOV, he's running map 6 and mines a 21, might revert back to standard map to settings and see how I go thanks legend

I have to say this plainly but I think it's needed before you blow some thing up: sounds like neither you or the mechanic know what they are doing. I would keep it on map 1 or 2 with 93 octane on default settings.

There's no point in modifying the user adjustments for maps 1 and 2. Just leave them default.
Having bigger turbos effectively means your mechanic has a completely different engine. Map 6 is also a completely different animal compared to map 1/2.

Did you delete the primary cats or modify the primary downpipes? That can lead to overboost problems. I don't remember what all JT put in their 4" kit. Anyway, if anything forward of (and including) the primary cat is modified then look up all the threads here about folks working with those builds. You need to do quite a bit more work - EWG control with the JB4, or an ECU tune.

Classic jonnytigg, i believe his issues are solved now though thanks to terry.

Hey I have the same problem in my Elantra N 23. Everything is great then it sounds like engine gets deeper sound for a sec then know throttle or turbo limp mode. Just have to turn it off and restart it. But it’s happening more and more

I had this issue with my 3.3 stinger. Finally fixed it. I put the duty bias at 0 and set the wastegate adaption to 40. No more overboosting. I have 0 mods on the car besides the jb4 and EWG wires
