I'm very confused seeing as everything I read says the blue power wire with the Bluetooth connector is for models prior to 2017. Just ordered the jb4 and Bluetooth connector a week or so ago... Also, can't seem to find my board type when looking through the pictures. Just don't want to do something if I don't have to.

It almost seems as if I was sent the wrong/older Bluetooth connector? Does the blue power wire still need to be used seeing as the jb4 is not prior to 2017?

The Bluetooth connector is the adapter/dongle coming off the right side of the JB4. No power wires needed, just plug that sucker in like you already have it and you are good to go.

Going to just go ahead and continue with installing the jb4. I assume worst that will happen is the Bluetooth won't connect if I do need the blue power wire. I'm just confused why the blue power wire is there if it's not needed

I never needed to connect any power wires for mine, but I also don't remember getting a blue power wire. The only blue wire I have going to my JB4 is the one that comes off the FSB for the Meth kit. Maybe it got packaged in with your JB4 by mistake? I honestly could not tell you why its there, but you should be able to connect to it no problem from your phone.

Pretty sure bms sent me the wrong bluetooth connector. I have the unpinned power wire one and I'm assuming a board meant for the pinned one? Hoping I can still just connect the blue wire using the way they describe for the unpinned versions here.

yup, looks like you got it. If all else fails, just reach out to burger tech support.

oof. Yeah that's a very old one. I would reach out to them ASAP and get it replaced. Terry and his team are pretty good with that kind of thing.

Connected via blue wire method. Everything works as it should. If you want the non blue wire method make sure you add that to your cart on bms and don't use the drop down menu when buying the jb4. Learned that the hard way :(

If you have a BMS order number I can check and see what you ordered.

Also, if you get an unpinned one you can convert it to pinned by crimping on a male dsub pin and sticking it in position #2 on the small connector.

Forwarded you the order confirmation email. Honestly, just connected everything and followed the guide for the unpinned bluetooth connector version. Everything works fine after doing so. Was just very confused at first since it wasn't the pinned version as ordered.
