So I have a 2018 GT2 with the light bending headlamps. A while ago I hit a pot hole pretty hard and that might of messed up the alignment on my headlamp on the passenger side. I hadn't driven the car at night until a couple nights ago and I noticed the passenger side beam was aimed very low, like 15 feet in front of the car. Earlier today I tried to adjust the lamp height inside the engine compartment and I managed to raise it up to it's maximum and it is still far from where it should be. Now I don't know how I can go about diagnosing what is wrong. During startup the lights go up and down and do there little dance to diagnose itself? I think it's possible that the gear that is used to adjust that height has possibly jumped a set or 2 making the upper limit far below what it should be. I'm scared It might be something that the dealership tells me I need a new headlight for. I'm seeing them for around 1000 each which is definitely not something I want to do unless there is no option or I decide to keep night driving to limit. The driver side light works just fine. Has anyone taken out headlight and sort of know how that adjustment works? Is it something that is integrated into the headlight component or is it something that can either be replaced or adjusted/calibrated separately?

I do know that anything going haywire in the headlight assembly, anything at all, is sealed in there: no dealership does repairs on headlight assemblies: they pull them out and put new ones in. So, your theory that something inside the assembly that is "integrated" is the likely possibility. But hopefully taking it out and putting it back in can return the adjustment "gears" to normal, allowing you to adjust from a "zero" position instead of a shifted one. This is the first issue of maladjustment after a "bump" that I've heard of; so I don't think that you're going to get any joy: you'll have to run this by the service people. And of course, I hope that the latter problem (the easy out and back in one) is the fix, and you don't have to buy a new assembly. :(

Yeah, I just don't really like going to my dealership because they are really weird and I don't trust them. I did my oil change yesterday. When I went down there, the little circle piece to access the oil filter was gone. I know it was there when I did the oil change prior to the last one which I had done at dealership as it was there already. And the oil filter housing was on VERY VERY tight. I literally could not move it with my hands, I had to use my feet to do it. Not to mention in the past I tried to get them to look at creak in sunroof. Which they wrote down, they did not check because there was an aftermarket dash cam installed????WTF? And I had asked them on 2 different occasions to look at the driver seat as it rocks about a quarter of an inch under acceleration which doesn't seem like much but it's very noticeable and annoying. I love my Stinger but the dealership experience makes me hate having to go there.

I'm going to try pulling out that headlight next weekend after figuring out how to do so and see what is in there. I really do not want to go to dealership. That headlight price does not look fun at ~$1000.

My headlights still do their adjustment dance but they are pointed at different heights and different horizontal alignments, I feel like that "calibration" only checks if they're moving but not their position. I didn't know there was a stop to the amount of adjustment as far as the (what someone has mentioned to be a) worm gear goes. Are you adjusting the height with a screwdriver from up top or a ratchet from below? There's a thread around on taking out the airbox (maybe not a concern with your CAI?) to adjust more directly. Are you out of warranty mileage?
side note- my dealership always unplugs my dash cam when the car goes in for service, I'd be pretty annoyed too if they declined to check an issue just because I have one at all

I have done the method of using a skinny Philips screwdriver to adjust it. And it appears to hit a stop and doesn't go up any higher. I may try the method of trying to ratchet and seeing if that works better or at all. The driver side light does an ok job of lighting everything up it's just a HUGE annoyance seeing the difference in height. Is it 6 years 60k miles for parts for warranty? I just passed 43,000 miles. It may just be one of those things I can live with. As it stands now, it's about 30 feet shorter than driver side distance. It was much worse before.
