Is there something fishy going on here or am I being paranoid?

I just saw a few 2021 stingers listed by the same dealer on cars.com. They're all brand new and HEAVILY discounted. The MSRP of one of them is almost $43,000, but it's being listed for only $31k. The dealer has great ratings(4.6 stars across multiple websites), and the owner of the dealership owns many dealerships for different brands, so it's not a scammy place. Is there some massive issues on these 2021 models or is there some kind of explanation for this absurd price? If there isn't I am not gonna hesitate one second longer and I'm just going to buy one.

Some dealers sell them for invoice if there's a kickback. Not uncommon. Usually if it's a distant dealer, get a deal proposal before going.

If it's the 2021s, it could be because they're trying to clear out to make room for 2022s which are notably updated.

Discount stacking, excluding fees, etc. are all standard tactics for this sort of online advertising. Koons here in the DC area pulls that crap all the time.

Contact the dealer by email, tell them what you’re interested in, ask for an out the door price listing all taxes and fees. If they try abs get you to come in, gently refuse. If you go more than two rounds without making progress, ghost. Not worth the time.

Also, check out Tom Mcparland’s articles on this sort of thing at Jalopnik. He’s got a few references to this pretty common tactic.

I need your ssn and mother’s maiden name to answer this.

also... I have some swampland in Arizona if you are interested.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

That swampland is where they set up London Bridge, which is also for sale. :D

While I absolutely concur with the opinion that you should be wary of advertised pricing and expect it to not be the price you'll be actually offered, the discounts on the Stingers are--and as I understand it, remain--phenomenal. As long as these cars are poor sellers, Kia will keep pushing discounts to get units to move.

My price on the 2020 GT1 last year (list price around $51K) for $37K and change. Others certainly have seen similar--and even better--deals. I hope that next year, when my lease expires, I'll have the option to upgrade to a 2023 model with similar savings.
