Been eyeing the stinger for 2 months plus and I’m curious what your thoughts are on if this is a good time to buy. I’m sorta worried all the lease vehicles coming back it will plummet the resale value on top of Kia coming down soon with a refresh. Or should I wait it out a couple months? Thanks for any advice !

Edit: what’s the number one thing you hate about the car?

Resale already sucks.

this isn’t a car to buy if you want resale value.

I would hope the dealers are willing to deal since foot traffic is down and people are likely hoarding money since the fn
Apocalypse is happening.

The more interesting question is for yourself.

are you down having a car note in this economy?

your job stable?

can you bug out into the mountains and hide in a stinger (even awd)?

lol most dealers seem to be shutting down before handing out big deals, job is safe. Looking for cars it seems cars with 20k miles are maybe a grand or two under there rebate price, a lot of used GT2s for 35kish still. I thought they were holding there value decently for a Kia hence why I’m nervous if lease vehicles start coming in soon

Does resale suck anymore than any other car in the Stinger's class? I bet it's no worse than the BMW Gran Coupe. It's been pretty good here in Canada from what I've seen but we pay quite a bit less to begin with. I always hang onto my cars for 5-7 years so I don't get killed on resale.

I can honestly say I hate nothing about mine. When I walk out to the garage to get a drink (that's where I keep our bottled drinks) I always find myself staring at it. If I had to name something I dont like it's the dealership experience. I came from an Acura and their dealership was on a complete other level.

Resale for the Stinger remains good down under, they seem to hold their value.

In my area used Stinger GT2 were going for 36k. I did the lease buyout on a 2019 for 39k. I didn’t buy it worrying about resale. Our other car is an Audi S4. I’m not sure anything can depreciate faster than a German car..haha

only thing I dislike about the Stinger is the memory seats are not linked to key fobs. That part sucks

I don't know if Kia is increasing incentives during the COVID-19 scare. But Jerry Seiner Group sent this email today:

None of my local dealers have discounted any more than previous quotes, right around 38k for a AWD GT1. Maybe I can trying and turn some screws tomorrow

At least it will be good for a quick getaway when the zombies come. Oh I forgot, they're already here buying all the TP.

I know what you mean, those damn " joy rides ", I go down the road to get some milk and add an extra 20 minutes more because I drive straight past my turn off road to take her for a spirt up the road to go down the " Big Dipper " just to hear the turbos kick in and the noise of the bimodal.
No wonder I'm clocking up the kms.:D

I do a version of this on Sundays. I take "the long way" home from church, using the Bangerter Hwy; adds over twice the miles, but gets my engine warmed up and allows an acceleration celebration on the onramp when it's clear (c. half the time). :)
