Is it safe to remove this? It looks like a removable plastic film but I didn’t do it just in case. It’s in the engine bay on the passenger side.

are you talking about the fuse box with the positive jumper cable point? you can remove it if you need to jump start the car or someone else or replace fuses but i'd leave the cover on to keep water out..

Yes, it’s the box with the plus sign in the picture. If you look closely it looks like a plastic cover, like the one when you buy new things and have to remove if you know what I mean

Oh the clear film, i don't believe mine even has that on it so i'd say you are good to remove that clear part. Most likely missed by the dealer during prep... ours had a ton of clear shipping film around the interior that they had missed as well.

Lol. Plastic film is all over this car, inside and out. I was still finding plastic bits well over a year later. E.g:

I ordered a brand new cover myself and it came with the plastic sheet just to keep it from getting scratched in shipping, you can remove it. I had this new cover on when it was modified for the HECU recall, and used the original cover so I could bolt (using nylon fasteners!) my jb4 to. This way if I have to remove the jb4 to take the car to the dealer for any work, I can remove it without any trace simply by swapping the cover (takes two seconds to remove the cover).

Yup this is what I did too. I have two battery fuse covers. One with JB4 attached and one with plastic cover still.
