Is it normal for this air bag light to be on?

I've checked the manuals and it appears normal for the "OFF" light to be on when the passenger seat is empty, but I have not found an explanation for the light on the left. It looks like an SRS warning that indicates a problem with the airbag, but I'm not sure. I just bought the car a week ago and I'm not sure if this light has been on the entire time or not.

Thanks in advance,

Doug

Seems normal. Does it turn off when somebody is sitting in the passenger seat?

It does go off when someone sits down. It is odd that I can't find an explanation of the light in the manual. If it is just saying the air bag is off, then it is redundant since there is already a light for that.

Where is there already a light for that?

I've never seen that light. I would suspect some airbag issue. the 'x' makes it look like it's saying that the airbag won't deploy, according to the electronic interfacing wizardry in these modern cars.

Check the picture in the post. There are 2 lights.... the one on the right says "OFF" and the one on the left has a symbol that looks like an SRS malfunction symbol

I would verify if mine is the same, but my Stinger is finally in the shop. Someone backed into me a couple weeks ago.

I think it is saying that there is something in the seat, but lighter than a full size adult, so the airbag is at half intensity.
This issue came about over the last few years with smaller people being severely injured by full force airbags.

in the pre-2022 models, we only had the "off" illuminate.. looks like in 2022+ models, they added an extra illuminated symbol with the "off" i guess for redundancy in case you can't read "off" lol.
