Is Anyone Else Beginning to be Annoyed?

I put a little decal on my back window that says "PITBULL INSIDE " so far no attention but I have a Subaru .

Not really haven noticed anyone staring or coming up to me in my Kia? But then I live in place where people would likely not think a Lamborghini is a big deal. Maybe you need to move to better neighborhood?

Hard to say, as my car is on a ship atm. So far I haven't recevied any calls from Sailors I don't know.
LMOA.....that’s gold.

You can stare, you can ask questions.....but never, never, ever touch my car or things will definitely get out of hand.

Why don't you tell them not buying this car because it's a KIA? It will help a lot of people not getting rip of overprice.

*disclaimer: first world problems all over this post. You've been warned *

I appreciate people admiring my car because as a car lover there's plenty of vehicles I fawn over. I frequently break my neck to check out passing cars.

But I never go out of my way to engage people in discussions about their car. I believe in giving people their space/minding my business/staying out of people's way/etc.

The stares I get while driving or sitting at traffic lights is easily ignorable, especially since my windows are tinted. But there are normal parts of my life I've had to change to avoid unwanted attention.

For instance my wife has taken the car for the day a time or two. She comes to my job to pick me up and just waits out front. On two occasions I've come outside to a group of people walking circles around the car as she and my kids wait for me. That makes me uncomfortable. She recently took the car so that an insurance adjuster could inspect it at my house. When she came to get me I told her to just park somewhere to avoid the attention. When I came out there was a guy standing at the driver's door putting his hands on the window to try to get a peek inside (he didn't realize someone was in the car). That pissed me off. I understand your curiosity but keep your hands off people's property.

I just stopped at the gas station (a chore I now absolutely hate!). Bubba walks up to me and yells "so how much this thing set you back?!" I politely told him it wasn't too expensive, thinking that would be good enough. No. He pressed on, "so was it 28 thousand?". No, it wasn't. "Was it 32?!" No. (at this point I'm chuckling because I can't believe I'm having to deal with someone asking me about money while I pump gas). "So what we talking man, 40 grand?!?" Yeah man, close enough. He then fist bumps me and says "alright man, all I need to know" and walked off.

This is just a couple of the annoying people I've dealt with in the last couple months. I've started to avoid making eye contact with people when I get in/out of the car because I don't want them to see it as an invitation to hold me up.

Am I being dramatic? Yes, I admit I'm mostly overreacting. But I'm incredibly uncomfortable with strange men staring into my car while my wife/kids are parked in it. And I'm incredibly annoyed when someone questions me about money.

I love the car. I appreciate the attention/curiosity FROM A DISTANCE. But I want to be left alone!!!

Dear Diary: Thank you for letting me vent.
Not annoyed..... yet :)

Back in February I almost made this exact post. Lol. I've said "It's a KIA" more times than I can count.

I can't imagine what people with super/hyper cars go through. Imagine going to the gas station in a Bugatti. My God.

I'm going to have to rethink my post lottery winning fleet.

*ahem* If you own a Bugatti, you also own a private gas station.
