Hello everyone,

I am the proud leasee of a '22 Gt2 and I ofc I plan on doing a buyout after a another year or two. I have a lot of mods I'm interested on fitting on my car but before I ask for any recommendations I need to find a good dealership for servicing. I live in Baltimore so for my 6k check in I went to Nationwide Kia. I was shocked to learn that the service was provided by a Nissan/Infinity dealerships service center. This didn't give me confidence on their ability to do the work but since it was only an oil change I went with them. I heard from a post on the forum that DARCARS in Temple Hills MD has a great Kia service department but thats an hour away from where I live so I would like someplace closer if possible.

Also second question: I have a little damage on bumper that happened when I pulled up too close to a dirt mound. It seems to have pushed the bottom grill that covers the intercooler out of place and possibly broke one of its clips. Also the plastic underpanel got damaged through this little incident and when I asked the Nationwide kia (really Nissan) servicer they claimed I'll need a whole new bumper and quoted that to be around $1k (parts alone). I don't think I need to replace it all so I would like some guidance on where I can go for such a job.

I know this is a lot to post for an introduction post and it may not be proper forum etiquette to do this so please let me know how I can ask such questions betterin the future. Thanks in advanced!

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your brand new Stinger! What did the Stinger replace for you? I’m glad you found us. :)

As for best results with posting - especially when it comes to questions - a subject title relating to the message or question in the forum area that best fits. Right here we’re in the lounge. But you may get the answers you need right here. It’s just easier to get more eyes on your topic when the subject title is specific. :)

For mods, check out the forum store and vendor section. There are so many options.

Hey vickcantfadae,

Welcome to the Stinger Forum and congrats on your new Kia!

The '22 GTS is an absolutely perfect spec, especially with the tech.

I am not too familiar with dealerships in your area but we can definitely help you out with mods.

If you have not checked out our Stinger focused website, come and view all of our available options at www.K8StingerStore.com.

Enjoy the new ride,

Daniel @ the K8 Stinger Store

Calling @General_Vodka , he knows ALL about the front end of Stingers. He can answer that question about "needs a new bumper", heh. I'm going to guess that a simple clip(s) replacement is all. (Welcome to the forum.)

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Plastic underbody parts are usually easy to find and replace as a DIY. The clips are also usually a standard, once you know style/size they are. When you go to the autoparts store and figure the clip size out, buy a few extra to have on hand.

Hyundai and Genesis dealers can do oil changes for you, keeping it "in the family". They likely won't do warranty work for the car though. The Genesis G70, for example, has the same engine and transmission. My first two oil changes were at the local Genesis dealer figuring they would already be familiar. I have a car shop near home that my GF has been taking the Mazda she drives, and went with them for my last change since the Genesis dealer was 2-3 weeks backed up.

Kia dealer service departments, from all reports on this forum, are very hit and miss. I'm avoiding taking the car there except for warranty work, and keeping a paper trail of everything being done in case I do have to get warranty work done and can prove I'm maintaining it.

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on the car.

Unfortunately good Kia service dealerships are a rarity, so having to drive 1 hour to a good one is frankly better than most of us.
So with that in mind, that Kia dealership outsourcing the work to nissan/infinity is not much of a degrade.

In regards to front bumper parts, bumper removal is fairly easy. Just take it apart and look at what is broken and order from kiapartsdirect or one of the other dozen kia oem parts sites (push in clips and other minor parts are often on amazon as well, just need to find the part number first). If you really do not want to DIY it, then any mechanic service shop should be able to do the work if it does not need a new bumper/paint (and there was no actual damage to body/structure of course).
