• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Insurance Rates

IMO if you have a clean record and you've been with the current co more than 3 years, you are NOT getting the best rate. After yr 3 most discounts fall off.

Which was my beef with Progressive. I had been with them almost 10 years without issue. My insurance never really went down during that time. First car insured with them was a 08 Accord. Interestingly, my insurance went down a little bit when I got my 2018 Accord. I would check from time to time to make sure I had all the eligible discounts, but the premium never lowered.

I was basically a commercial for Geico - asking Progressive what they could do for my updated rate with the Stinger. I had been a member for so long, why was a competitor able to give me such a significant discount? They said there was nothing they could do to get me a lower rate. So I switched and made sure Progressive knew why. So much for a "loyalty discount."

^^IMO if you have a clean record and you've been with the current co more than 3 years, you are NOT getting the best rate. After yr 3 most discounts fall off. In years past there was loyalty discount, but not any more. Last time around even with the house on the policy, the rates were not competitive. Will re-evaluate next spring.

I'm sort of old (not retired old though), drive little and last crash was over a decade ago. Can't remember the last ticket/conviction I had. In IL they really just want your money so unless the traffic fault is egregious, you're usually given supervision. I haven't had any of that in the last decade either.

Last time I was pulled over was in 2018 or 20178 at 7am on my way to a car meet. Cop thought I was drunk because I was all over the lane. Told him no, the roads are just bad so get treated as a slalom course, and I did stay in my lane. Ran my info and let me go with a have a nice day.
I 100% agree

there is NO LOYATY discount. I just switched from Sonet.ca to The Personal - - pretty sure some of my savings are merely BECAUSE I switched.

That has been my experience.

Also - shopping around for insurance SUCKS it just plain sucks. Time consuming and frustrating.

^^I'm ok with shopping for car insurance. The hassle is the house and getting the coverages to match so it's an apples/apples comparison.

I'll have the existing dec page open when I call for the car. For now the car is with geeco and house with lib mutual. Next year will be year 2 with geeco and year 4 with lib mut for the house, so time to really shop around.
