IMO if you have a clean record and you've been with the current co more than 3 years, you are NOT getting the best rate. After yr 3 most discounts fall off.
Which was my beef with Progressive. I had been with them almost 10 years without issue. My insurance never really went down during that time. First car insured with them was a 08 Accord. Interestingly, my insurance went down a little bit when I got my 2018 Accord. I would check from time to time to make sure I had all the eligible discounts, but the premium never lowered.
I was basically a commercial for Geico - asking Progressive what they could do for my updated rate with the Stinger. I had been a member for so long, why was a competitor able to give me such a significant discount? They said there was nothing they could do to get me a lower rate. So I switched and made sure Progressive knew why. So much for a "loyalty discount."
