I’ve noticed a ton of water intrudes when its raining, directly onto our CAI’s. So I sealed the engine bay and now have 0 intrusion. I picked up the thickest weather seal from AutoZone and used a little bit of superglue to form them into perfect position. Photos and videos to come since I dont know how to get photos and videos on here...

This almost looks like an early April Fool's joke. What does it look like closed?

Why does it seem like a joke?

LOL, don't worry Reborn, there are always commenters on the internet that run around with their eyes & minds closed.
You are not the first who saw that the KIA's Optimas have a seal around the hood...why not the Stinger????
I did mine over a year ago.
It keeps water & dirt away.
Who knew? :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

haha I wasn't accusing anyone of anything. Yeah i’ve noticed seals and definitely noticed massive water intrusion so I wanted to make sure! Looks GREAT!

I wasn't accusing anyone

I know that, and I also know the feeling when your good idea get's poo-pooed ...
I was just trying to give you some moral support in letting you know, you are not all alone LOL
Enjoy your clean engine.
BTW we will driving through your area in a week, visiting Pressertech in Smyrna :):):):):):)

I would think this makes it harder for heat to dissipate from the engine bay. I noticed the water thing too but got waterproof pre filters to fix the issue.

Possibly... but if this was an issue, we would not see "fake" vents on the hood.
I think engineers would not rely on that crack around the hood to provide cooling for the engine.
The modification was made over a year ago and I have not noticed anything that would change my mind.

Hmm. I have a 2019 GT with AEM intake and it's been raining here all week. And I just came back from driving in the rain. I just ran out and check and I don't see any rain getting to the intakes or even close to the strut bars. Looks nothing like your pic. Then again my car sits in a garage when not driven. So maybe that's why?

i am garage kept as well, but when it rains, it directly leaks all around every opening in the hood. The protective barrier around the engine then directly guides the water straight all over the intakes. I know it wont hydrolock my engine but moisture kills engines so I just want to be sure in the long run. I’ll try to post some prior pics of a moderate rain storm driving for 15 minutes.

If you're referring to my photo, that isn't rain water getting in, rain water isn't the issue. The only time I find water on my engine and up near the filters like that is when I use a drive thru car wash with the undercarriage spray, which I do somewhat often in the winter months. My car spends it's entire life in a garage other than when it's being driven. I just wanted to protect the filters from when I use the automatic washes since it's about the only car washing option where I live in the winter months.

I have noticed the lack of weather stripping around the front area of the hood. I have never thought about this to be honest. The panel in the engine bay, in front of the engine is always filthy on mine.
