I am going to have my ARK Springs and Eibach Sways both front and rear installed in the next couple of weeks on my AWD Stinger. I went to the KIA dealer where I bought my car and they quoted me the following labour times: Springs 4 hours, sways 1.4 hours. A local performance shop similar shop time. These seem like reasonable hours (based on what I have read on the forums here as well as install videos online) - would the people that have had this done agree? If anything, I thought both could take a bit longer. The local performance shop works on Porsches, Mercs, Audi's etc. but not on a Stinger yet. But I have perhaps a bit more confidence in them than the dealer as they don't strike me as the most caring group. Are these install times accurate? Thank you for your time

Depends, is that Canadian time or US time? :D

Actually, I've had front and rear sways installed only and the 1.4 sounds about right. I have heard and seen the front springs being a pain in the butt to install (relatively speaking), so I think 3.5 to 4.0 hours being about right in my opinion.

I can't comment on the times, but I would take it to a good shop before I'd consider having the dealer do it. Even though I have a dealership with a pretty good service department. I'd rather have someone who is more qualified to work on a performance oriented car working on my performance oriented car.

LOL! In this case Canadian time, so based on the "exchange rate" ;) all makes sense. Thank you!

That's what I am debating, but I tend to share your thoughts and agree with your assessment. Thanks for the reply

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
That's a good time for sway bars install.

Merlin, I am happy that they quoted only 1.4 hours as I believe the rear won't take long but the front is a longer process from my understanding.
It's the other way, actually. I have read on here by those who have it done, that the front bar takes c. half an hour. The rear bar is a bitch on the left side, because the gas inlet encroaches on the attachment points, requiring some dedicated tools to get in there, so, it takes something more than an hour for most installers.

I stand corrected. Would it be any benefit to take out the OEM Springs, than take out OEM sway, put in new sway and then install the new springs? Please forgive me, I am not very mechanically inclined, this may be a silly question.

I can't say. We are both "not very mechanically inclined". Springs are entirely outside my experience. I do know from my reading on here that both springs and sways have been installed at the same time; I'd leave the order/method up to the installers.:)

You have to disconnect the endlinks while doing the spring swap, so it makes sense to do both at the same time.

I installed my springs and sways myself using my friend's lift. Took me 8 hours which includes beer breaks and a skethy-ass mod to my vato zone spring compressors.

Spring installation cost

Those times quoted to you seem completely reasonable, but there's no way I'd let a Kia dealer do it.

In general:
front sways - cakewalk
rear sways - a bitch to reach the bolts unless you pull the muffler, but not technically difficult
front springs - difficult to get the strut out, easy re-install
rear springs - cakewalk

"A" Kia dealer, depends entirely on which Kia dealer. "My" dealer/service center has a "Stinger specialist", and he put my Eibach in.

I'm having the rwd eibach sway and spring kit installed Monday. Cost in US dollars seemed to range from $400 to $600 for installation

Wrong! Front simple, rear a bitch.
