I just want to say "thank you" to everyone who's personally messaged me regarding Kia Stinger dot com being a MAJOR influence in their decision to buying a Stinger. I'm extremely proud of the fact that this site has been a positive influence on so many people trading in their top tier luxury cars (mainly Audi and Lexus - you know who you are) for a Kia.

It wasn't all that long ago when Kia didn't get nearly the respect they deserved. We all watched as the Optima started changing our way of thinking - and then various models followed - and it wasn't long before we realized that Kia was now a major player in the automotive industry.

Anyone who'd like to share how Kia Stinger dot com influenced their "Kia Conquest" story would be greatly appreciated. I think Kia executives deserve to know just how good their "Stinger" really is. Please, feel free to tell your story and let the world know that Kia deserves respect for coming such a long way - in such a short amount of time...

The biggest sell i did was at coffee and cars. So much interest i did not even have time to see all the other cars. After people saw the car up front it changed their view of Kia. I spoke about the forum too. If it was not for the forum bringing other members together on that day it probably would not have had such a great turn out which got alot of people asking questions on the day. The forum is a meeting point and advertising forum for members who want to get together to show off their cars to the public. It also motivated me to go around to all the dealers in Perth and hand out flyers about the forum which was received well.
So thanks Sal for starting this forum we and Kia owe you alot!

As noted elsewhere, "KIA" stands for "killed in action". Ever since KIA came to the US (and my notice) I've felt negative about the name. It is just too easy to mock. Then I read the promo book about the Stinger and everything changed. I decided I wanted this car. I've never bought a new car in my life till this car. And everything about it fits the proposition advanced by the Stinger Story in the promo book. That little book is a piece of salesmanship art. It was my winter read as I sat on the "throne" doing "God's work" (answering Nature, heheh). I must have read through the promo book half a dozen times. Then all at once I simply went out, did a test drive on a Friday evening, returned on Monday morning, and drove away in my choice of color and trim on Monday afternoon. I liked the car so well that I changed my mind about leasing and bought it outright. Go KIA!

So how did the actual forum influence your decision?

@AV8R: Had I known of this forum prior to getting my car it would have been a positive influence for the most part. But I didn't know about it until I got curb rash on two of my wheels and went looking or some advice on how best to handle the damage. Although no satisfactory answers came on that issue, I found the Stinger Forum an engaging place with its lively interest in this car, and the answers to so many issues and questions being shared. The problems with the car are out in the open and there is no denial. The pluses are heavily one-sided compared to the few problem areas (mainly paint). So the forum is definitely going to contribute to selling more Stingers (if the US gov't doesn't screw it up by imposing prohibitive tariffs, that is).

Not that i am snubbing all the comments so far but Kia Stingers original post is asking for comments on how the stinger forum influenced them buying a Stinger. Just a reminder so we keep on the same track.
I bought mine before i joined the forum too but the forum has made a big difference in my life in more ways that just the car itself, i made some great friends, had a good laugh, kept me focused during my cancer treatment and made me a moderator which I did not expect when I joined.
So the forum did not influence me buying the car but it did do alot greater things for me!

I’ve spent a lot more money on my car because of this forum. Thx Sal... ;)
Yep, everyone posting about their ideas, and sharing their pictures, lol. I watched Doug review of the Stinger then I hovered over the forum to see what people were saying about it. Lots of great helpful people here.

It was October 2017, i was almost going to purchase a 2017 Holden VF2 Commodore SS V8, then i heard of this new Stinger built by Kia in South Korea, i already knew of some products from Korea are well built and good quality, so i was excited when i saw a photo of a Stinger for the first time, my ideal next new car had to be, not a car that gets lost in the crowd, which means it will be quite rare for a while on the roads, and people will rarely see it, i wanted the V8 engine performance, but from a turbocharged V6, twin turbo in this case of the Stinger, and i LOVE how the Stinger is kind of a SLEEPER car, as i also liked the Ford Falcon FG XR6 Turbo with 270kw, or the FPV FG F6 310kw.

It is still October 2017 , after all that i did a Google search on Kia Stinger and guess what, one of the top results was of this forum, so i stalked the forum for a few weeks without joining, and i gained so much knowledge on Stinger from those early forum members of that time, so i joined, it was that knowledge i gained on this stingerforum.org that made me realise this Stinger is an enthusiast car, and i could share my passion for it with others here and at meets in Victoria. I LOVE this place more everyday because it is also awesome to see photos and read what mods other owners are doing.

So Yes, being a member of stingerforum.org, did greatly influence my final decision to go ahead with the purchase of a Kia Stinger GT in Deep Chroma Blue, and i signed the contract to purchase the car on 02 November 2017. Early forum members that made me feel welcome include @Kia Stinger - Sal.C, @AV8R, and @Marco-Oz, and maybe some more i can't remember right now..Sorry..haha.
Tomorrow i am going to the Kia Stinger Driving Experience / Track Day here in Melbourne, and i should meet some forum members and their Stingers, promise to take photos and post them here ASAP.

See you tomorrow mate, can't wait. The car is sparkling after a long bath and not coming out until I'm setting off for the Track.

Joined the forum after I purchased the Stinger on Memorial Day but had the top wrapped after seeing it on the forum. Also sped up the knowledge of the features on the many threads. Plus, fills up the day of a retired car nut.
