Hello, the pop-up after registration asked me to introduce myself here. Not sure if these get much attention but why not :)

I'm from Germany, in my late 20s and living the adventurous life of Employee-Man. I recently went on a Youtube-Review binge on the Stinger after first hearing about the car in 2018. Being German myself I actually always found the usual suspects here (BMW, Mercedes, Audi) to be rather uninspiring due to their sheer commonness on the local market. It feels like everyone and their dachshund has always driven one ever since I was a child (and everyone else has a Golf). The Stinger to me is "exotic" without overdoing things. Since I've mainly heard/seen good things about it online now, I've decided to upgrade from my Fiat to a Stinger in 2021. I'll likely go for a used one, I think it's the 2019 version that starts with the 360 camera. Not a huge fan of the 2021 facelift version taillights anyway. Interestingly it seems going forward Kia will only offer fully specced V6 Stingers in Germany.

My ideal (main) specs are:
Twin Turbo V6, AWD
Ceramic Silver/Grey (Ghost Grey)
Red leather interior

For my used one I'll have to do some re-badging and I see this Forum shop seems to be the best place to find stuff. Super excited to start looking next year, hoping that with the new models coming to Germany, it will be the right time to find a good deal for a previous model.

I'll be routinely checking out this Forum to see what's new and I'm generally super happy there's a dedicated community like this for the Stinger.
See you around everyone!

Welcome and good luck with the search!

welcome and enjoy the journey you are about to embark on!

Welcome to the hive! I agree with your take on "the three" Audi - super boring looking (except the R8) BMW, used to be fun, now dull and the new ones are butt ugly. MB, a bit of a mix, there are a few I like, but the value ($/feature) is steep

Hey TestiStinger,

Welcome to the Kia Stinger Forum!

The Stinger is a really great choice, especially when switching over from its German competitors.

I came from a BMW background and quickly fell in love with the practicality and reliability of the Kia.

If you are going to rebadge the car or add any modifications, come check out our Stinger aftermarket specialty shop.

You can view our store online at www.K8StingerStore.com.

Feel free to reach out if you ever have any questions!

Cheers,

Daniel @ K8

Thanks everyone :)

On the test drive... you might be right but who am I kidding, the upgrade from my current ride is going to be huge in every aspect anyway so it's not like I'm going to go "Eh, guess the Stinger isn't that great, I'm not upgrading". And the alternatives really aren't that appealing to me (if you can call them alternatives at all) and usually priced much higher as well! I think the test drive / first real world impressions would have to be majorly disappointing for me to consider getting something like an Arteon instead (which I like the looks of, it just isn't as performance focused as the Stinger) or an Octavia RS.

Welcome I have seen as many R8 as stingers where I live, for me the Stinger is more exotic and more special, a car that does it all while being sexy as f*ck.

Im the same way lol. I joined here months ago. I still dont have a Stinger and probably wont until next year as well. But as of now its my dream car. It looks good as hell and the performance looks good. Im coming from a 270 HP V6 Altima so its gotta be better than that. The looks are top notch, Im in love with the hatch, and love what Kia/Hyundai are doing recently. I havent even test drove it and probably wont for another 6 months. But Im pretty committed at this point lol.

A wise decision. Because waiting after the test drive is problematic for nine out ten test drivers. (I made the numbers up, but you get the point.)
