Hello everybody,

I found this forum today and it's been very educational. I will be replacing my 2004 G35 Coupe with (95,000 KM ) with this beautiful car. Only drove it in the summer. I am located in Canada and AWD will be must for me, since it will be my everyday ride . I will be ordering my badges from you Sal.

Welcome! Good choice on the Limited, I opted for the GT thinking I wouldnt miss the upgrades the Limited has, but I do regret it a bit.

Growing up the G was one of my favorite cars, just LOVE the exhaust note on those VQ engines.

Thank you.

I was at dealership today , I asked for keys for the one on display outside , couldn't test drive , it only had the all season tires , but I started it up , the exhaust sound is not the same .

Hi. Snowy north. Terrible time to buy a car, imho. They won't let you drive it? Lame.

Hope you get exactly what you are looking for.:)

Hi .

They had the car outside covered in snow, with the all season tires. I asked if they would throw the snow tires on to test drive. They said No for now.

Has anyone tried driving it without the snow tires and how was the traction with the all wheel drive ?

Many members are pleased with it on A/S in the snow but of course there's no such thing as one kind of snow!

There are also plenty of discussions here on snow tires.

Please add your location to your profile, thx!

Ive driven mine on several occations in the snow but I bought a winter wheel/tire package for mine. Works amazing in the snow, cant really comment on how it does with all seasons.

@eflyguy has linked to the most active thread on the subject. I'll just say here that if the snow isn't deep enough high center on, the A/S with AWD will get you there. Treat them respectfully, no horsing around or finding limits, and A/S are good enough for most occasions. The steeper you have to go up or down, the more dicey driving on snow is, of course. Watch out for black ice and pick your routes carefully and maintain your distances. That said, if I were living in Canada or any similar snowbound place, I wouldn't even think about A/S; snow tires only.

If you lived in some parts of the USA, including parts of CA, you would not be legal without snow tires, or chains.

I had to buy chains for a rental over spring break, so we could legally drive into the region around Yosemite. Nobody stopped us to check, of course.
Yes, we have areas around here too that are not legal without snow tires and/or chains; notably the canyons. I reckon you're okay as long as you don't get stuck or wreck. Once you draw attention to yourself, if you are in violation that's when you'll get written up.
