I've been bouncing around, had to register again and reset the password.

I absolutely HATE, DESPISE and LOATH Idle Stop and Go. The supposed benefits the factory gets from it do not in any way make up for the irritation. My Stinger GT1 is a fun car.

I think there is a thread that talks about pulling a fuse in the console that will defeat it. If I'm correct, could someone point the way to get that fuze. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks, Don

It's not pulling a fuse, it's adding a resistor to the harness under the center console. Someone confirmed there's already a 220 ohm current limiting resistor in line, which is why jamming the button with a piece of plastic or tape doesn't burn anything out (current is in the milliamp range), but most people including myself just add a resistor in the couple hundred to couple thousand ohm range:

i'll copy my previous post on this ... it was the first "mod" i did to my Stinger, and probably the most satisfying.

it is such an easy fix ... you press a 1k ohm resistor into the wire slots of the connector under the Stop/Start button (a free fix for me, since i had a jar of miscellaneous resistors in my garage).

there is no cutting, splicing, or soldering ... the resistor is held in place by friction against the wire crimps in the connector (if i remember right, i did secure it with electrical tape for good measure). there is no need to spend $100+ on a wire harness.

not my photo, but here is the fix ... resistor inserted into black and yellow wire slots in connector (pins 28 and 32). you just need to remove armrest to access connector under the row of buttons, which is fairly easy. **** PLEASE CHECK THAT YOUR MODEL YEAR/TRIM IS THE SAME **** i have a 2022 GT2, and from what i remember, this photo looks correct as far as the wires go. this was literally the first mod i did to my car LOL!

Over a hundred bucks?! You still have to take the console cover off, which is a no for me.

Who has a '24 Stinger? Ha hah.

I still don't get it. A "checklist" when you start up should include "turn OFF ISG" as the first thing after starting the engine. The only time that doesn't happen is when I am distracted by something out of the usual. And then the 1st time the engine stops or the "A" light pops up amber, the OFF button gets pushed. This angst over having to discipline yourself to do this every time is far outweighed, in my opinion, by the mucking around with the console cover and internals. Jamming the button with foreign objects wedged in there is right out.

LOL, its SOOOO easy to loosen the center console enough to access the wiring connector underneath. its not like you're getting into the internals of the engine ... its a few plastic clips that need to be undone.

in the one-time 10 or 15 minutes it took me to put the resistor in, i've enjoyed 2+ years of never having to worry about ever pressing that button.

I will admit that autostop thing would make it plug and play, but I used the other start/stop module disable that shark racing has, which when I bought it was $50 but still requires inserting wires into the harness. The price on the shark racing unit has gone up significantly since I got it in 2020. but I've had no problems. Were I to do it now I would probably go with the autostop for the harness.

The center console trim piece is very easy to remove.

It's not so much that a button press is a chore, it's that EPA shenanigans mean I can't set up the car the way I want and have it stay that way. Right now my startup "checklist" is:
- hit the Lane Keep Assist button
- flip the drive mode 2 clicks (usually) to Smart
- flip the high beams to Auto (if dark)

That's ignoring any fiddling with the HVAC or seat heaters. I don't want another button to press every time I get in, just like I don't want to have to readjust my seat, and would happily spend 10 minutes going under the console to make my settings stick.

why don't you just disable LKA in the cluster settings?

Lane keep assist is OFF unless it gets turned ON. When I got my car back yesterday, LKA was ON for the first time in years. I pushed it OFF and it stays OFF.

Whats cool about it is push the button and it remembers your setting on or off, mine is always off. Google a promo code you can get it for less than $100

I usually want it enabled, and that won't persist.
You haven't driven in IL. Roads here so bad I'm all over the place - don't need to be fighting lka. Some potholes big enough to give a nice blow out. I also keep a long following distance to better identify the hazards before last second.

I'm with you on this one.
I make it a habit to turn it off as soon as I start the car. I just don't see what the big deal is. Just push the button and go. Sheesh.

I guess my battery is shit and I dont meet the qualifications.

Good

i also don't see the big deal about taking 15 minutes to easily never have to deal with it again using a 2 cent resistor ... :D

Same. My power off voltage is like 11.6 according to my Xtool.

I have a LiFePo4 on the way and it'll probably become an issue, but if if does I'll cross the bridge when I drive under it, as Ted Kennedy once said.
