So the brakes on my 2001 Honda Accord Hooptie went out tonight. I got in to go to work, started it up and the brake pedal went to the floor. So tonight, I was FORCED to drive my Stinger on the streets of Baltimore, Maryland.. She is in so much danger here. Danger from the shit roads, drivers that will not stop after hitting you, the idiots who drive 60 mph along 25 to 35 mph streets, ect. I vowed to never drive my Stinger into this city. I think I jinxed myself.
PLEASE PRAY FOR US! :D
I can't be the only one who's afraid to drive certain places with my shiny new Stinger.

Well, if you weren't driving it, what would be the point of it? At least you're using it for what it's meant to do! :D

I'm being pretty protective about my new GTI, but I'm also making a point to drive it a lot. I find myself searching for reasons to "run an errand."

Hoe about one would want to orpo like to park and where!
. Lonely parking area
. Single parking spot
. Underground parking with pillars on either side
And so on....trying tp find a safe place or just keep driving around trying to find one.
Maybe the go home if close by and walk to the shops.
Man what a way to drive and enjoy the car if it is short trips!

I am still waiting for my Stinger, and im having nightmares, well...not really...ok...extremely stressed about leaving it parked at the local shopping centre, all on its lonesome...haha.....but serious, i still park my 2004 Holden Commodore VZ at the very far end of the car park where there is generally plenty of space between cars, my children have said for years, Dad why do you have to park furthest away from the entrance, your car is, let's politely say ' old as shit'..haha, as we walk past the other cars, my daughter might say, Dad look, it's a brand new Audi or Mercedes Benz, or BMW, alright every brand known to man....and yet i still park my 2004 Holden in the same place. I think at times my children have said 'we might as well have walked from home' or 'where is the shuttle bus'..haha. I am freaking out more about parking my Stinger, to the point of keeping an older car, just to take to places like shopping car parks..haha

I am sure we are all somewhat protective of where we drive or park as well, i completely understand @Plainolmoo and his concerns, it was scary just reading about that area of town, when i am going to drive my Stinger to a family or friend's house, driving for a Stinger meet cruise, or just cruising just to show it off..haha, and maybe stoping somewhere scenic and have a BBQ or picnic, it's SHOULD..haha be fine, the Stinger is bought to drive and enjoy, not hidden in the garage.
Finally a word of advice to @Plainolmoo, get that 2001 Honda Accord..don't know what Hooptie means, fixed and back and running ASAP.

That was a little more than my two cents.haha.
Holdon im back, haven't had two cent coins here for many years, put me down for five cents..haha.

We survived! :D:D:D

it's not anywhere as bad as the OP describes it + it's only a KIA :)

I was hit and run once in Florida. I was driving a HUGE Cadillac Escalade ESV and somebody side-swipped me on a very busy highway - during rush hour - right before Christmas. The road was PACKED with people either driving home from work, to or from shopping, or whatever. I wasn't about to maneuver that huge vehicle through traffic to catch whoever did it. It happens...

Great News, im still getting over what you said about drivers who hit and run, what the ?
It IS as bad as I say. The hit and runs are rampant. There are dozens a day in Baltimore City. I have first hand knowledge of it.

Also Baltimore... Not sure what were the circumstances but just look at this. Which one of you is this? :coffee:1517330551427.webp

How I see local drivers of Baltimore after that post:

Ok..just a moment..im trying to collect my thoughts after seeing the photo of a damaged Stinger, also breathing heavy..because just as i saw the photo i heard a woman's voice scream...Oh, sorry about that..i guess it was me...haha.
You know what, i did say in a previous message that the Stinger is meant to be driven...BUT, maybe i might keep it hidden in the garage after all..haha. Joking.

Wait, im not gone just yet, that is disturbing to see a Stinger already damaged, thanx for the post.

Greetings Stinger Forum!

I was super protective of my last car. I had it waxoil undercoated, tinted rear glass, installed FrostHeater. And never drove it in the winter for the five years I had it. Except one time I decided to take it out before a storm and got mad because the state put salt down on the roads before I could get home! So mad! So Sad. I was going to keep that car forever. (And probably should have!) But then VW had their buyback and it just made sense $ to cash in.

In the end I just wish I had driven it more and enjoyed it more while I had it.

With that said - there is no sense being plain reckless and driving in Baltimore in your new baby, if you don't have too. :sneaky:

Cheers to the forum! Thanks all, for the great content.

Ahh, another Dieselgate sales loss for VW. Assuming you now have a Stinger, or are in the market?
