It is with heavy heart that I tell you that I traded in my Stinger, Scarlet. It came down to money. My daughter is starting college in the fall. I have a son in college already. I'm trying to save as much money as possible.
So if you are wondering - I got a 2020 Kia Soul EX. It's not as big of a sacrifice as I thought it would be. I've always been a hatchback guy and this thing is loaded with technology. The only things I will miss about the Stinger is the speed, the looks, adaptive cruise and automatic brake hold at lights...
Who knows - maybe one day I'll get another Stinger.
My Stinger had over 30K miles and it had an occasional slip in the transmission that I reported to Kia Service but they couldn't recreate the issue as it was infrequent and random. Other than that - it was a perfect car.

Keep Stinging!

I am so sad to hear this, and happy if it is what you wanted/needed.
I was sooo hoping to get you back up to my neck of Northern Virginia again. You are of course always welcome to join in, and I like Kia so would love to see the new Soul. :)

Curious what they gave you on trade allowance on your Stinger in relation to the payoff?

We had fun at the last meeting - I think I brought a pork butt - maybe next time I'll bring a brisket. :) The Soul EX is a great car and you'll be surprised when you see all the tech. The Nav screen is 10.5" and is stunning. It drives nicely and gets awesome mileage. Call me next time you have a meet and I'll come on up with Jill, or my son.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

I definitely will do that! Yeah the Pork Butt was crazy good. We would love to see Jill again too. I am hoping to plan something in the spring/early summer, once the weather warms and the pool is open (and heated).

If you are trying to save as much money as possible why did you buy another brand new car?
With an economy car like that more often than not you come out ahead from a cash flow perspective... There is also still a balance of value in convenience, time, risk of car being down for (expensive and time consuming) repairs vs the the bottom line cheapest option. Id rather pay a slightly higher monthly payment or maybe the same just for a longer term knowing that no matter what that is going to be my cost and I will have a vehicle to drive even if my car is in for warranty work

Goodbye Snatchell and Scarlet. :(

ok then

Well I travel some for work. I need something with a good warranty and I don't mind paying on a lease. My Stinger had over 30K miles on it in a little over a year. The transmission was slipping occasionally and Kia service couldn't find the issue. I'm saving over $200/month just in payment and insurance. It's actually a very reliable, well built car. Kia sells over 10K Souls a month. How many Stingers do you think they sell?
In technology, the Soul has some cool stuff the Stinger doesn't have.
The Soul is also fun to drive! Don't sell it short...
Plus - there's an old saying... It's more fun to drive a slow car fast, than to drive a fast car slow. ;)

Kia sells over 10K Souls a month.

I'm guessing someone from the dealership told you that? There may be random months when Kia managed to squeak out such a large volume of Soul sales but it isn't the norm. Kia sold 5.5k Souls last month.

The last year Kia sold over 10k Souls a month was 2016. Since 2015 it's been on a steady decline. It has sold less than 10k units per month 9 out of its 12 year lifespan.

They do sell a crap load of them, though. And it is a great value with the tech and warranty offered. I reckon that's a more accurate way to describe its success.

Confusistinger say selling Stinger bad, selling of Soul worse.:D
