I might be dumb but how do I send a PM on here?

I have spent the last 10 minutes trying to figure out how to private message a user and I cant find the button.

Im used to forums having it on the side under their information when they make a post/reply but I dont see it there. I clicked to open their whole profile and cant find it there either though I do see a Report, Ignore, Follow options, and on their post I only see the flairs and report etc options.

I am sure its really obvious and Im overlooking it probably :/

Click on the profile avatar and then click on "Start a Conversation". I recall that this kicked my butt too.

I dont see it on this screen, nor when I open the whole profile page. Where is it?

Maybe this is one of the few "hold on there little fella" things that only kick in after you've shown your serious side (aka now a bona fide forum member, i.e. no longer "Newish"). Sal knows.

Heh! You've been on longer than a year. It's post count, not time after signing up. I think that the threshold is fifteen or maybe twenty posts, something like that. So, what else do you want to talk about?

You can make direct contact with other people via "Conversations". However, if you're a new member, it takes some time to have this feature activated for your account. It's an automated process that works using various algorithms and not just your post count.

Unfortunately, this is a necessary evil as we've had too many people in the past sign up only to contact members behind the scenes with links to malicious websites. Considering this happens out of view, there's nothing we can do to prevent it - other than simply making it difficult for these people to follow through with their malicious behavior.

If you don't have the ability to start a Conversation with another member, give it some time and keep participating in the community - and it shouldn't be too long before you can...
