I found that the 2018 paint chips on the front end very easily. Any others find that out also?

My paint has many chips in the front. Has there been an issue with paint easily chipping. I have an early 2018, 26,000 miles.

Is it yellow?

I painted my front bumper twice and it still chips easily. I dont think its the paint because I took it one of the best body shops in town and they use very high quality paint/clear and it still chips easily.

What did you own prior to your Stinger? I feel most modern "environmentally friendly" paints just aren't that durable. Plus with cost reduction initiates and modern painting techniques, the layers are pretty thin compared to the days of old. I'd have a ton of paint chips all ALL of my post 2010 vehicles. Even my BMW which is supposed to be a "premium brand" chips pretty easily.

I have a red 2020 Stinger and the front bumper and windshield are full of rock chips  but it's not noticeable unless you really focus on the bottom part of the bumper while being close to it. We have a 2014 Hyundai Sonata that has been driven much more than my Stinger and it almost has no rock chips for some odd reason.

You have a 2020 and it's full of rock chips already? Why not "invest" in the 3M paint protection? I also have a 2020, I have the paint protection on a lil bit of the hood and the front bumper, best 300 bucks I've spent. Had it on my 2007 and the bumper was mint on that car the entire time I had it.

The model year is 2020, but I got it in June 2019, so it's been almost 2 years, and I've driven 33k miles on it. When I bought the car, I didn't really know anything about protection and whatnot, so I only learned about it after the bumper got so many rock chips.

Ohhhhhh, gotcha. I didn't get my 2020 until July of 2020, just hit 5k yesterday. We normally keep our cars awhile, so that's literally the 1st thing we do.

I'm sorry. A respray of your bumper and then PPF before any damage is the only fix. I got to mine at c. three months, when I noticed some road attrition and decided that if three months collected enough for me to notice, imagine what a year or three would look like? So, I applied the touchup pen to the obvious ones and got the PPF pronto.

It's all right. I have thought of repainting it at the dealer, but everyone that looked at my car until now never mentioned anything about the rock chips, so I guess it's only noticeable to me. But on a serious note, I might consider repainting the bumper and applying protection immediately afterwards. My only concern is the difference in the colour since the whole car will have paint that is almost 2 years old except for the bumper.

I second investing in PPF especially if you are OCD about the finish of your ride. I had the whole car done and it's one of the best investment I did on the car. No scratches, no rock chips, smooth as a butter. 3+yr ownership and the car was bought around late summer/early fall of 2018.
