So I got my first chip moving a flight case into the rear seat. I knows there is Dr. Colorchip but I see people bringing up the paint pens from Kia. I would like to go the Dr. Colorchip route but how do I match it up with the paint? Should I just call them and tell him what vehicle I have? Should I try the pen from Kia? Thoughts?

Thanks Guys!

Dr. ColorChip has most of the Kia paint codes. I had no issues getting a Snow White Pearl kit from them. If it’s not listed just shoot them an email.

I would use their products over a paint pen any day.

I'm going to go for Dr. Colorchip. Idk where I heard this from but someone said apply the the paint after waxing? That doesn't seem right. I would imagine the car needs a thorough wash, then touch ups with Dr. ColorChip, then wax and finish.

Forgive my ignorance, I'm new to owning a vehicle of this caliber that I actually care about.

Waxing before touch up paint doesn’t make sense to me but I’d double check the instructions on the Dr. ColorChip website.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Hey, jumping in here...which "package" did you order from Dr. Colorchip and how did it turn out if you don't mind me asking?

I chipped the front of my car, so i'm worried if i should take it in or try this out, i know if i mess it up I will always notice it :(

Unless you already have equivalent tools I’d get the paint, “thinner” (I forget what its called), brush and microfiber towel.

It’s really hard to screw up Dr Colorchip. The way the system works is you apply too much and wipe away the excess with the thinner. With light pressure you are only wiping away the excess on the paint. Not what’s in the chip.

I’ve used it quite a bit on my wife’s car before returning it for lease. And once or twice on the Stinger. Each time it worked well, it’s not repainting the panel but you can’t see the chips from 2-3 feet away.

and does it match the paint?. More importantly does it have the shiny flakes that the OEM SWP paint has?
