I was looking for a cheap alternative to giving the Stinger a better sound and not wanting to spend 2.5k for the bi-modal.

I took it into my local Muffler guy(who was great by the way), he cut out the old mufflers and put in a smaller straight through mufflers, sounds amazing...

Great sound at the lights and when you give it some, but very hard to live with, the drone was awful between 40-80klm and not so great at about 105klm, we tried a couple of different mufflers, but ended up putting the originals back in.... got to say... sounded amazing but too hard to live with.

I'm no expert... but just wanted to share my experience with anyone who was thinking of doing the same.

Thanks for the info, very helpful for the community.

Bimodal is the only way to go IMHO.

Have you Bi-modal fitted? if so how is the cabin sound?

Have a look at @Racerx post in tab 17 in 3.3t Kia Singer Aftermaket Exhaust Information & Discussion thread above this one, you can achieve what you are after, without expensive bi-modal upgrade.

Yes, I have the Kia Bi model and I love it
The cabin noise is maybe a little louder when closed but no Drone at all and that's what you need.

As GT SS has said, read the exhaust treads and most have droning that are not bi modal

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

I put on Arc exhaust and swapped the mufflers to flowmaster dbx aka hushpower to bring down the sound level and drone. It worked great. Love the dbx. Arc has 2 sets of drone tubes vs the stock pair of silencers so not sure how the flow masters would do on the stock setup but should work well. Mine is very deep and rumbly yet subtle.

Tonka - was there a sound bite kicking around with your setup?

Thanks

Loving my Bi-Modal especially in Sport Mode.
