I must reiterate I like power , and I really wanted a 2018 mustang with 10 speed auto. Then I wanted a Charger / maybe a Challenger with a scat pac motor in it. Yes I drove the 2018 5.0 Mustang right after test driving a GT1. That new mustang has a great top end rush and pulls hard up stairs. but it was a base model and other than the 10 speed auto and 355 gears , it was plain Jane. I had also considered having Roush bolt on a phase 1 blower on a new mustang that comes with a 3yr 36,000 warranty but I like $ in my pocket .Sometimes I hit the throttle in the Stinger and it feels fast as hell other times it feels OK. It is strange that when you select the drive mode, when you shut off the Stinger defaults back to Comfort mode. Yes Only drove it 2 days and learning everyday . I do dislike fact that you have to engage the feature of auto shut off when at a stoplight, kinda annoying . Just wondering, do these stingers run better after the rings seal in the bores and the clearances loosen up with miles?? My Nephew already called me out with his 2018 infinity Q50 red sport. It seems the Stinger go flat over 6k in the upper RPM range. Still I like the overall drive experience in the Stinger. Hopefully I made the right choice. We will line up at Atco dragway in So. Jersey soon. Any tips to give me a edge on the Redsport :} After owning 2 fast Gen 1 lightnings both in 10's its hard to be satisfied.
Just before I got her in the 10's with AFR185 heads I am the RED truck LOL
I agree with you on loving power and almost got a Scat Pack myself! I missed my big block 455ci Trans-Am and felt I should get a V8 before everyone stopped making them.
The SRT/Scat Pack Charger and Q50 Red Sport 400 were my top choices before I drove the GT2 Stinger.
The Q50 was too cramped in both the front & back, and just felt like an upgraded Altima. It was quick to 60, but didn’t feel fast and took a while for power to build. The Stinger felt much quicker and the low end torque makes it a lot more fun to drive. Win=Stinger
The Scat Pack exhaust sounded great, and it felt really fast especially at top end, but it lost traction way too easy. Also my buddy’s SRT only gets 12-15mpg.

The interior was big & roomy, but felt cheap and very basic compared to the GT2. Win=Stinger
I agree the Stinger feels faster sometimes and depends on RPM & boost. In my experience it’s quickest in 2nd & 3rd gear, rolling into the throttle and then flooring it at 2k RPM. Our advantage is low end torque(2-5k) over top end HP. Otherwise launch control gets us off the line very easily. You probably can take the Q50 Red Sport as they are notorious for spinning one tire on hard launches. For advantages, use launch control, try 2+ tanks of race gas or 93+ octane with good octane booster, pull air filters just for track run and maybe short shift at 6k.
As for the features and easy
mods just search the different threads on here. There are discussions about the advantages of auto start/stop, and defaulted drive modes. Basically they’re for helping fuel economy, etc. I personally got used to controlling the auto stop feature with the pressure on the brake. Push brake down 80% instead of 100% and it won’t turn off.

Also, if you want faster we can easily run 450HP+ and low 12s, with just a chip and intake & exhaust!
I know I made the right choice and think you did too! Don’t doubt that you have one of the best and unique high performance cars on the road. Chargers & Q50s are a dime a dozen and I guarantee they don’t get the attention you will in the exotic Stinger.
Lastly I raced a Scat Pack and 5.0 Stang and kept up with both to 60mph so don’t worry and be happy!
Good luck on your race, keep us updated and Go team Stinger!
