Looks like they want to get serious about taking their product to the next level and have some key people they want to move up. Word is that Peter Schryer will be retiring, with Luc Donckerwolke taking over design duties for Hyundai and KIA, I'm curious to see what he will bring forth from his experience at Lamborghini and Bentley.

Power play by Bierman , good for him , go for the mantle !! He wants more control and was likely promised it with his hire away from BMW if certain "goal posts" were achieved ..................

"....R&D president Albert Biermann is likely to be named the new head of the division"...
".... It is "part of a generational change Chung is pushing for"....
".... The group's vice chairmen, Yang Woong-chul and Kwon Moon-sik, both aged 64, told senior officials on Tuesday that they would leave the company"

Sounds pretty clear that the Chung's and the Board at Hyundai/Kia are all-in on the strategy the started down the last few years. They brought in Biermann and the rest of the German car guys to make a difference. And they have. His Stinger and G70 has gotten raves. They've proven they can make a reallly great car in a super-competitive luxury sedan segment. They've nailed the halo car they wanted. I don't know that BMW, Mercedes, and Audi are at-all worried, but I think Hyundai/Kia definitely have their attention.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
This appears to be more of shake up as they are in trouble. Losing market share, falling profits, lagging in technology, real quality issues that have led to major recalls and hundreds of millions in write offs. Interesting they are moving guy from Bentley into design.

Hyundai's U.S. head steps down amid shakeup of global operations
try to think long term ...............these guys are strategic , they have a game plan and are dealing with some short term pain to get the boat going in the right direction . They have an admirable vision .................you approach this from a very narrow perspective I think ..................
