How would ZB Commodore compare to Stinger?

Relevant in that they’re both hatchbacks, though the Stinger seems the more performance oriented of the two. If only one of them offered a manual
Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. The Buick Regal is a "cousin" to the ZB Commodore and we've got a bunch of conversations going with comparisons. I'd take a look at these links for more information:

Let me know what you think! :)

Thanks for the warm welcome! And it’s interesting to see that others have thought along the same lines. I think there’d Have to be a more overtly sporty version of the Opel/ Buick/ Holden for it to be comparable but maybe a supercharger for the V6 could fix that...

Aren't there some benefits to a naturally-aspirated engine? Some people might prefer not to have turbo.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
No turbo lag. One less really expensive part that could break.
It's hard to get the same HP without one though.

Definitely, but you need a pretty big engine to get what's considered good power out of it in 2017. I will say the naturally aspirated 3.5 liter V6 engine from Nissan is pretty impressive - as well as the 3.8 in the Genesis Coupe. But the Regal GS is only getting 310hp out of it's V6. I know that's 50hp more than the previous generation but anything with a performance edge needs at least 350hp these days...

You have to factor in weight as well. A Golf R gets 290 hp, and it's pretty damn performance tuned. Small car with a 2.0T, though. Maybe you meant for a V6 specifically.

To your point, the GS is heavier than the Stinger, so I can see why that would be a turnoff.

HSV says they'll have a product in the marketplace in 2018 . They're not saying what but it's fair to assume it will be ZB Commodore based . Who knows what the ZB pricing will be but let's say the VXR model comes out at near the current SS price of 55k drive away that will leave Holden 15k to price the HSV with the Stinger at 70k ( with exhaust ) . Then of course if performance is all your interested in there is always the new Mustang . How could you not like a car that has a "drag" mode.

Yes, power to weight ratio is great for the Golf R...
