First period of time when I'll start using the heat in my 2021 GT. Just drove it and had the temperature synced at 77 F. But the airflow wasn't very warm - I believe the AC compressor was still running? Why would that be the case when the AC is turned off and the defogger is not selected?

How does everyone run the heat on their Stinger (dumb question I know...)?

Did you have the controls in the back seat switched to heat?

If you're in AUTO it'll run the compressor/defrost if it thinks there's a chance your windscreen will fog up. If you turn off auto and adjust the fan speed and locations manually it wont run the compressor. Obviously the car needs to be warm to blow warm air.

I use auto anyway. 23C/73F during the day and 25.5C/78F in the evening.

While 77F might not feel warm coming out of the vents, give it enough time and the car will be 77F. Moving air always feels colder because it evaporates the moisture on your skin faster than still air. Another option is to point the vents away from you.

Good point. I had the heat on yesterday for the first time. WIth car fully warmed up, it wasn't blowing as hot as I expected it to. I never changed the rear setting from summer (cold). Will change that to full hot and try again next time it's cooler.

What @Grump said: I run Auto unless I turn the entire system OFF. The manual says that 73F is the optimal temperature to get the most out of the system on Auto. In the heat of summer I will raise the temperature to 79F (what we have our house AC set at); all other times I set temperature at the recommended 73F.

I find that the car is smarter than my body temp. If my body temp is real warm, then 77 will feel real hot. If my body temp is real cold, 77 will feel really cold. Only after a while fixing my body temp can I then set the system to auto. This isn't a problem most of the time, but all my cars react the same in this way. A/C runs to remove moisture, which becomes prevalent when running heat inside. Modern cars turn the A/C off during hard acceleration, so it's not draining power like it used to.

I always keep it on Auto & 22,5C. As far as I know, even in winter there will not be any hot air coming through the front & top vents because that would be very uncomfortable and would also make you sleepy.
Warm air is only blown through bottom vents, on your feet and it then rises slowly.
With my previous VW this was very obvious. You would simultaneously have cold air coming through front vents and warm through the bottom ones.

Be careful setting the back to hot if you use the phone cubby. Your phone will get crazy hot because the vents to the back run right under it.

Speaking of climate control, who finds the colors for mode selector atrocious?

Black background with navy colored icons... Brilliant. Nearly impossible to see which vents are active. I'm not sure if this scheme was used on the older (pre 22) MY's. Does the climate mode selector display elsewhere where it's more visible?

It looked fine before the apr update this year, then they f&*%ed it. Go to any other screen and mess with the climate buttons, it'll show up as little white icons at the top of the screen.

Just to share with the OP.

You do have these options, which you can disable if you like.
