How to install a Kirkey race seat

OH Cruiser, what's the status of the Sparco install?

So here is the result of 6hours!!!!! Of fabrication. Good thing i had my cousin helping me.Time it took to make the bracket was just ridiculous. I used resistor to bypass air bag sensor, so i have no air bag light on the dash. Also reused stock seat belt. Still need to make minor adjustments. But overall i think it turned out not too bad. The seat itself definitely is firmer than stock. Little more supporting and due to the material is holding much better in corners. As far as weight difference, i gotta admit, i am i little disappointed. The stock driver seat from my car is 57 lbs. Sparco with bracket is 34lbs. So,only 23lbs of weight saving. Obviously will need ro drive with it for about a week to see if it is daily drivable. 20220122_203140.jpg20220122_151548.jpg20220122_151556.jpg20220122_213142.jpg20220122_213235.jpg

That looks pretty good. Not the lightest of seats but if the functionality improves that's still good. My worries for the track would be the side and hip bolstering not being aggressive enough. Do you have it on a slider? Or is that hard mounted? did you raise the level of the seat up any? It looks like it's a little lower than the stock one. Nice work on the brackets. If you can make me a set of brackets that would be great! LOL, sort of.

I think I'm going to put the "planted" bracket in mine, and put in sliders.

Oh, how did the seat belt receiver work? is it bolted to the seat or to the car?

I like the look of the seat, nice work!!! Keep me posted on comfort, and usability.

Edit: thanks for taking all the pictures too.

That seat is definitely much better for track purposes. Because of the material you dont slide at all. Side bolstering doesn't look too supporting, but it works fine.I took couple of sharp corners on my way back home yesterday. It was pretty cool feeling, knowing how my body slided on leather seat before. But it is not as comfortable as stock (and the stock seat IS VERY comfortable). And i am hopping, with some adjustments it will be more daily drivable. Like i sad, i will live with it for a week to see if i like it. I didn't install sliders, it is fixed in place. It sits lower than stock. Have about 4-5 inches to the roof now. And i bolted seat belt reciever to the bracket.

cool, thanks man. I think I would just raise it up a bit. If I put in the under-seat bracket and sliders, that would probably do it.

Once you get it adjusted it will probably be fine.

What resistor and which pins for the airbag?

So i have another update. As you can see, got different seat installed. It is r100 model. After i got to the store that had several different seats, i really liked it lot more than r333. So instead of buying another r333 for $500, i got a pair of these for $600. Will have to fabricate the brackets ( will definitely take a lot less time now) for passenger side and install it as well.

Hey, that looks pretty cool. $300 a piece, seems like a steal! Thanks for the update. I haven't done anything yet. headed to track in a few weeks so that will probably get me motivated again.
