Not sure if this is general knowledge or not...Just gonna throw it out there. If you have weird problems with your display, gauges, heated seats, cameras, etc...Do a capacitance discharge before wasting your time at a dealer or shop. We are seeing a lot of issues due to software glitches in these new Kias from about 2020 and up. Disconnect your battery cables and short them together for 10 minutes. This will reset most of the modules on the car and reset these glitches. Connect the positive cable and then the negative cable and you should notice your issue is gone. Iv'e seen it fix blank screens, gauge issues, seat issues, etc...There really is no end to what this can fix. Hope this causes you to have less stress in your lives.
Yes. In the industry, we call it a capacitance discharge. removing the battery and touching the cables together will deplete the voltage stored in any modules in the car. This should reset them and clear out any of the corruption that has happened.
With a slight lisp you can pronounce that "capacidance": I like the sound of that. This tip gets stored in the little grey cells, hopefully where it can be retrieved if ever needed. Thanks.
