How do you take off or remove the side (fender) vent

Is is seriously as easy as just pulling out? And you you need to tug it in a certain direction? I have my new vents just received today and waiting to install them. If I only need to pull until it pops out then I'll do that right now. Confirm!

Notice they are called "garnish"? lol..

Wow!!! So does this method only work on the premium model or does it apply to the GT as well? I have been wanting to take mine off to change the color.

Literally just pulled mine off, grabbed it from the inside. It was super easy to take off and even easier to put on new ones. Literally clips you just match the holes and press. Dealers wanted to charge me $300 for this

I have a 2.0 Premium and replaced the silver brake vents on mine with the dark chrome version from the GTs. It was simple - just use a plastic trim tool to work your way around the brake vent cover, gently pulling out so the push-in clips release. Only takes a few minutes.

To those who try to "help" by offering uniformed speculation about DIY projects like this - please don't! Either you have specific knowledge, or you do not.
Can confirm! Just clips, -2019 Kia stinger!! Thanks this was 100% helpful

May I presume all the 2019 stinger models use the same vent? I *cough* scratched my rear fender and was going to have the body shop pull the vents and spray them for me. However I am now intrigued by the dark chrome option, also any link to the carbon fiber hood and fender vents?

Sorry, this is an old thread, but did the clips break when you pulled it off? Because I want to pull mine off and vinyl wrap them and push them back on. Also, do you think this should be done in warm conditions so the clips aren’t as brittle?

The clips can get stuck in the holes and the plastic breaks. Easy fix is use some epoxy on the back of the vent where they mate up to the stuck clips before you reinstall it. Next time you yank them out the area that broke should be stronger and will pull the clips out. I broke a couple clips on mine but they stay in just fine with a few broken ones so I didn't epoxy them but plan to eventually. I backed my stinger into a pole so I'm waiting to get it back from the shop. The backup sensors are far too delayed to be useful if your moving at over 3mph in reverse. I hit the pole at the same time the thing beeped at me to let me know I was about to hit a pole. Backup camera was dirty, pole was the same color as the background, rear window is tinted dark. Mistakes were made.

Oh man sorry to hear about the pole. I’m still learning to wipe the camera and the sensors before I get in it. Thanks for the reply. I ended up ordering a few of those clips today so I can replace them if needed.

You won't lose the clips, they just get stuck in the holes and the plastic breaks off. If you epoxy the area where they break when you reinstall they shouldn't break off again. I don't know how often you plan on removing the vents but once or twice and you'll be fine. I blacked out all the black chrome on my GT2, can't keep that stuff clean for more than 5 seconds. Ordered a 2nd set of grills for the front and had them professionally painted black at a body shop and swapped them out and wrapped the trim on the trunk myself.

Interesting. Thanks for the tips.
