Anyone know of any Kia hoods with functional vents for the GT2 Scorpion? I’d be open to either a carbon fiber or color match but definitely want the functional vents. Looking online there seems to only be a few options.

Lmao! Love it!

Where does the water go? I always ask that question when this topic is resurrected.
Actually, never thought of that. I guess it disappears somewhere in there :)20221104_083540.jpg16675655483675984950269688148569.webp

Personally not a fan of the fake vents that come on the stock hood. Looks kinda cheap in my opinion. If the vents are on the hood I’d rather them be functional or not on there at all.
I do agree that the fake vents are silly. I would be more irritated if they were real though because I like keeping my engine bay very clean.

I'd kill for active vents, really need to dissipate all that hot air especially here in Oz. The build up of heat through the carpet and transmission tunnel is mad. I've found I've got to keep the AC on all year round.

Active? Like motorized flaps?

Like on a Hyundai Sonata?

The pics are not revealing to me. I look for HOLES where the vents are. The challenge is how to vent engineroom heat through holes, while keeping water out. In S. Korea (this was back in 2018) there was an aftermarket mod that cut the hood away underneath, the aftermarket vents were screened, and collecting boxes with drain hoses that ran forward to just behind the radiator were snapped into place (the boxes were magnetized) when it was precipitating or you ran through a car wash: it was an either/or setup, you either collected water, or you dissipated heat, but not both at the same time.

There are 5 holes on each side of the hood. Let's just hope they do something. Also i removed the hood seal in the back hoping to keep engine compartment cooler. 20221104_124754.webp

Thats a good point also. They are pretty expensive too so probably will make some other mods in the meantime. Appreciate your insight!

Hey Alacran5280!

We have a few different hood options with functional vents HERE. They are finished in Carbon Fiber.

If you have any other questions or would like a discount on your order, dont hesitate to reach out to me!

Seibon OE carbon hood is what would run, with pins.
