But who will do R & D for race teams now??

Sux for all the people that actually use their stuff because of reliability

figured i would be safe buying a "reliable" Honda-engined pressure washer, but i hate it ... PITA to start, surges ... carb jets need cleaned before every use. my 16yo Craftsman push mower and 13yo Ariens riding mower used to fire right up after sitting all winter

went all electric with my yard equipment a couple weeks ago ... so much less BS. yes, its pricey, but time saved is worth it. i've previously replaced the camshaft, carb, flywheel fan/rotating screen, belts, pulleys, in addition to all the standard maintenance crap on my riding mower. no more getting gas, winterizing, oil changes, air filters, etc. ... now, i just charge them, and every once in a while sharpen the blades and check the air in the tires.

you can keep those electric cars, though ... lol!

Its funny, I have the opposite experience with Honda lawn equipment, Ive been purposefully trying to kill my lawnmower so we have an excuse to get a new one and it just wont die. I run it without an air filter, have never changed the oil, the blade makes a butter knife looks sharp, the Plug is still the original. Yet it still starts on the first or second pull, even after sitting all winter with no gas stabilizer in it. Its probably 10 years old at this point. (it came with the house when we bought it)

The pressure washers are a beast ill give you that. They do like surging and bouncing off the rev limiter a lot. The old school generators did too. Usually when there was a load on the motor it would go away. The start yup that sucks too. For me as long as the trigger was pulled on the spray gun to relieve pressure on the pump it would kick pretty easy.
Landscape side of things they were always hard to kill. At least in my experience. I gave up on buy commercial push mowers for the company i used to work for just because of the same experiences @StingerbyAdoom has had. The metal gas tanks that they use do end up causing issues. Crap get stuck on the filter internally and of course minimizes fuel flow. I actually used to take it out and just put an in-line when i could. And an on off in line is helpful

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
The mower in the OP has been generally easy to start, usually on the 1st or 2nd pull after a season off. I replaced the air filter recently which I think has helped. Old one appeared pretty dirty.

Once I'm done cutting, I will close the fuel valve but allow the engine to run until it dies out, ensuring no fuel remains in the carb. Probably not much of an issue this time of year when im cutting every week or sooner, but as the summer progresses, time between cuts increases.

On start up, i'll wait a few min after opening the fuel valve before starting to ensure carb bowl is full (it is a gravity fed system after all).
