Hey guys really hoping someone can help me out here. I have had my kia stinger gt 2018 for 2 years now, With 95k miles on it. I had recently upgraded spark plugs using hks gapped at proper spec, and ran map 3 on jb4 using my first ever mix of e30.

Few weeks pass, i run fuel injector cleaner and the car is making some weird sounds during idle after driving and stopping at lights, Its like growling and burbling in the back, Well then it progressed to shaking, like a boom box was in my trunk and youd feel it even in the front of the car, it sounds like "pressure" and i notice the rpm stays at 1k at lights. Im driving a few weeks ago, and boom i notice my car is extremely slugish, and im in comfort mode going 30 mph, i check the gear and its in like 6th or something, Immediantly i put it in sport mode and gears seem to be working good, then boom cel. I popped the following codes

- P0302
- P0603
-P00AA
- PAA00

Took to a shop, they told me to clear them and i did, they didnt come back on and said all is well.

Well now 2 weeks later (havent been driving car), i took the jb4 out entirely, and was driving doing nice pulls, then when going around 40 not going hard anymore when it suddenly felt like i lost power like a ton, I cant remember if the gear was out of place when i checked but i remember it feeling strange and then pulling into my drive way that violent rumbling from my gas tank / trunk came, along with idling at a soild 1k rpm.

Im really puzzled because at first im thinking maybe its a fuel pump, or maybe a clogged cat, but i really am unsure and would like some secondary opinions.

I have nothing done to my car now besides intakes and oil catch can.

I second the suggestion to check plugs and coil packs. To me that is the first troubleshooting step with any rough idling and loss of power, along with CEL. I've never thrown a code, but just one bad coil pack made my car stutter under boost. Normal driving you couldn't tell anything was amiss. And that was just one bad coil pack that had destroyed the plugs, three of them in fact, before we discovered the bad coil pack - at my suggestion, by the way. They just kept pulling the bad plug and sticking a new one in. By the way, 1,000 RPM is not idling high it's in the normal range.

The codes already tell you that it is a faulty ignition spark. The other codes are a result of that.

Code P0302
It means there isn't enough fuel or air in the combustion chamber or an inadequate spark from the spark plug. Either way, the engine doesn't produce power on that combustion cycle if it misfires. Fuel might exit the exhaust without being adequately burned.
Code P0603
Anytime you see a P0603 error, it means the engine control module is not effectively using the stored information and is instead operating on default parameters.
Code P00AA
OBD2 Diagnostic Trouble Code P00AA means that Intake Air Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit (Bank 2) has been detected.

Code P2A00
The P2A00 code refers to an issue that the Power Control Module (PCM) detects with the voltage readings given by the oxygen Sensor 1 on your car's Bank 1 side.

You said you changed the spark plugs. You either put a faulty one in or not connected it properly or altered the gaps after you bought them (LEAVE THEM ALONE)

The rough running is the car MISFIRING i.e you are not running on all cylinders..............

Now what also happens is this if it is anything like the GM G8 V8 which I suspect it is.

Once it detects that the engine is misfiring it goes into protection mode.

You "may" find the aircon is no longer working, or in the case of GM, the "ABS" light comes on because they disconnect the Electronic stability. They shut down anything non essential. and lets face it your engine is not performing properly and is under powered because one cylinder is down. Code P0603 is telling you that. It is in a default limp mode possibly...........

to get you home until you fix it. So don't keep driving it around because you are probably be going to put a new motor in it if you do

Just undo all the Sh*t you did and don't do it again.

You seem to ignore that he's using a JB4. It's even recommended by the manufacturer to regap the spark plugs to a certain gap (closing them a little from stock). There's a reason for this.

So when the shop took a look at the spark plugs, They did check the 3 accessible cylinder, said all looked good. And yes i am using a jb4 so they have to be gapped to a certain spec.. However i will be taking it in to a shop and asking them to test each coil pack etc, to rule out issues with that first. Thank you guys for the help so far, I just find it odd that its coming from what feels like the gas tank

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0302 stands for “Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected.” The code is triggered once your ride's PCM detects frequent misfires on cylinder 2. A P0302 code can be caused by a bad fuel injector or a malfunctioning injector circuit. A failed coil pack or worn spark plug can also trigger the code

Been there. And its the easiest one to access. First cylinder drivers side.

It's a weird feeling and its audibly disturbing. But, they disable the engine for a reason.

I e got the same problem with my car, so I'm curious to fi d out what it could be cause these idiots at Kia charged me $1000 already saying it was a cylinder whe. I told them it wasn't but what can I say eh. They aree the mechanics. So annoying
