High-flow cats and downpipe combo

Hello all, I have purchased the high-flow catalytic converters and downpipe combo, I've heard some nightmares regarding taking the nuts off the turbo studs anyone out there have good luck taking these off with just using penetrating oil? Any help or thoughts would be appreciated I will not have these for a few weeks

I was able to loosen some without, but just in case, I used PB blaster. Sprayed the bolts with a good amount and let it sit over night. They came off pretty easily without much force.

Yeah, PB Blaster let it soak and PB Blaster again. And then take your time.

Do the PB blaster treatments, and if you want extra lubrocity during removal, hit those studs with a map torch and jam a paraffin wax candle in there.

It won’t evaporate under heat like penetrating oils and I’ve taken off some nasty east coast salty, rusty old fasteners without issue this way.

It’s helped me with valve cover studs recently that showed no sign of corrosion. Every time I remove exhaust manifolds and replace exhaust studs I use this method with 100% success.

Make sure that super heated wax can’t run backwards down your hand. It’s a nasty burn.

I usually apply heat and wax twice with a short cool down in between to ensure a little movement from the expansion contraction. I have no data for this belief, just repeatable results.
